“In order to overcome adversaries, you need to know God and to be known by God,” shared Pastor Dianthini who recently preached at Faith Oasis Fellowship on the 13th of September.

The most important fact that you should gain from Scripture is that God knew you first and He made you His own. There is an unspeakable comfort that energizes and strengthens a person who knows that God is constantly taking knowledge of you in love and watching over you for your good.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you. (Jeremiah 33:5)

And the Lord said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.” (Exodus 33:17)

You cannot KNOW God just by reading the Scripture

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. 106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws. 107 I have suffered much; preserve my life, O LORD, according to your word. 108 Accept, O LORD, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws. 109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law. 110 The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from your precepts. 111 Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. 112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end. (Psalm 119:105-112)

You can gain an amazing knowledge of the Bible and cite it by heart. But if you miss the core value of it, you miss knowing the core value or true essence of God and the Bible. Jesus pointed this out to the Pharisees in John 5:39-40 below.

You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life. (John 5:39-40)

This Scripture stands out because God is saying that we need to know Jesus; we need to come into a relationship with God and with Jesus.

“Let me tell you this, it is one thing to know about the Bible; many unbelievers know the Bible. It’s another thing to know the Author of the Bible because the Bible is just a book. You need to get to know the Author of the Bible because He is the author who reveals everything!” shared Dianthini.

How many of you get the revelation knowledge when you read the Bible? Don’t just read the Bible because the church says so. Everything we do in our lives should have a purpose. And in this case, we should pray that God reveals a revelation knowledge of the Word to each of us.

“Every Word God says has a meaning in each and every one of our lives. The Word is life, it is not dead,” he said. When you read the Bible and get in-depth to it, you will find yourself getting into a deeper relationship with God.

God does not always point out the way we should go. But with a close relationship with Him, you will experience His leading in your lives. He will lift you up when you are down. And He will give you a hope and a future that you could only dream of, before He touched your life. Move forward in your relationship with God and you will be able to look back astounded at the works God has done in your lives.

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. (John 17:1-26)
