“God already offers His life and sacrifices His life for us,” said bro Peter Hawk at a gathering here in Kuching recently. Bro Peter and his wife, sis Hadassah from the Caribbean were in Kuching for a short visit with some friends.
“Many people say they love God; but when prosecution comes, many run,” he said, adding, “When you are prosecuted, that means you are close to God and when you are tested, you have a testimony.”
“We must have a testimony every day,” he called. “It is healthy.”
“I’m here to give you encouragement. He is a living God; He is here with you; He is everywhere you go; and He is with you always. It is His promise,” bro Peter said.
When you repent and accept Him, He moves in.
“All of us have a purpose in the Kingdom of God; and a destiny to fulfill that is the great commission. We have to share the Word of God; it is a must,” he shared, telling it was not a request. It is not about converting but sharing the Word of God and what He has done for you.
Matthew 28:19-20,
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
“The Holy Spirit will help you,” he said, telling that all we needed was “to speak.”
Ps Hawk shared about his experience growing up in a religious Catholic environment in Austria. He told how he wanted more from God and would always question the priests, especially when it came to confession. He remembered asking them (the priests) after confession in school, “Can I ask you, who is forgiving your sins?” It was later that he left the church.
Bro Peter also shared how God broke him; turning him from a proud and arrogant person to a humble man. His wife testified to this, saying when they first met, “we could not stand each other.” When they got married, it was their inquisitive minds that brought them to Jesus. Upon stumbling on the first Bible she ever laid her hands on in their hotel room, sis Hadassah recalled what she read.
John 14:6
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 15:5,
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
“My excitement and my eagerness to be a child of God was so great,” she said, telling how she wanted to become a child of God right there and then at 2 am! She woke her husband who could not understand her urgency. She answered boldly, “If I die tonight, my name would not be in the Book of Life.” It was then her husband knew how serious she was.
It was a new beginning for sis Hadassah. After some time and a miracle later, her husband and daughters became followers. However, their new found beliefs were not without persecution. From losing their families, jobs, home and finances, they couple ended up in England working as a care person and a cook their first year.

They had their share of struggles but God continues to provide, year after year for seven years. One day they decided they had enough of the cold and moved to the Caribbean living the luxury life, “lying in the sun eating lobster every day.”
“A lot of people want to serve God, but not many are obedient,” she said telling, “This is the recipe for God’s blessings – willing, able and available.” They continued to share the gospel and are very active in expanding the Kingdom of God. After years of living abroad, Bro Peter and sis Hadassah now reside in Malaysia. The couple move mightily under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
