“You can believe in the impossible and see it happen in your life, not because you’re so great but because Jesus is,” shared Michelle Dela Pena who shared at Jesus Festival Malaysia, on the 24th of May 2014.
When you trust in Him, He will never put you to shame. Do not be focused in trusting in yourself, your family name or your educational background because those things will not get you anywhere.
“When you trust in Him, you will have the ability to stand when the storm rages around you. You may get a little wet, but you will stand through that storm having gone to the other side where everything you need is there,” she said.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
“Jesus first in my life, simply means, “Lord here I am, Go ahead and use me." What God wants is to partner with you. He will never force you! God will allow you to have your choice if you want to have Him work in your life,” she shared.
His plan and purpose for us are good. Do you believe that God has good things in store for you? Do you believe that God is not going to send you where you don’t want to go?
“Some people are not so sure but this is what I believe, that if you put Jesus first, He’ll place desires in your heart that you never thought you’d have, and if you have those desires to do those things and to go to places you never thought that you would go, then He will empower you to take those steps so that you can get there!” shared Michelle.
Michelle and her husband Alvin never thought that they would be pastors, not even the slightest bit.
“This was the last thing on our mind. We wanted to be theatre performers for the rest of our lives but God had other plans. If you were to ask us, was it in our heart to be pastors? No,” she said.
However, the more they stayed connected to the church, the more they understood who Jesus is and what He has done. From there, they found themselves wanting to speak to people, love people, care for people, and protect people.
“God is concerned about the individuals, He loves the Church as a whole but He cares about the individuals because He is a personal God,” she shared.
Whatever you hear from a minister should already confirm what’s in your heart because Jesus is first. He has the first and the final say, and no one can force anything upon you.
“Listen to what God says and let Him speak into your heart so that you know that you cannot be shaken when challenges come,” shared Michelle.
We have an enemy that wants to pull us away from God and not trust Him. However, when you know for yourself who God is, you will find yourself standing firm in faith, even if everyone else has left; you will find yourself moving forward to where God wants you to go.
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile (Romans 3:22)
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:30-34)
God is not limited at all! Hence, when you feel limited, you should always go to God. And when you feel broken, when you go into His presence, you will become whole. In fact, the Bible according to Matthew 6:30-34 above tells us that God is so concerned about things that people do not often notice. Hence, if God cares about the things that people do not often notice, don’t you think that He will attend to you, take pride in you and do His best for you? Overall, God just wants us to relax and trust in Him.
“If we are running around and the blessing is chasing us, it’s like a dog trying to get its tail. That’s what life is like when we are trying to do the getting. God says relax, and you’re going to get it,” she said.
“When a dog is asked to sit, it sits up and looks up with big eyes in expectation because it knows that you’re going to give it something; it could be your attention, it could be a rub, it could be a treat, but there’s just something about it sitting there, looking at you, ready to receive. I’m not saying that you and I are dogs! But we can learn from this, that when God tells us to sit and relax, our part is to look at Him with expectancy because that means that God is getting ready to give us something!” shared Michelle.
It could be something we need at that moment. God didn’t just come to give us life but He wants us to enjoy it so much that we are full and abundant that it begins to overflow into the lives of other people, so that people will want what we have.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6)
Keep your eyes up if you want to know what’s going to happen in your life. Send all your worries to God and He will take care of it and perform miracles in your life.
“If you’re only looking down, you’re only seeing things from that level and it’s hard to deal with things at your level,” she said.
“Challenges come daily, and doubt will come daily but you know what I love about God? That even when you doubt, He’s still going to pour His goodness on you because His goodness is there to get you to believe Him and take Him at His Word. And when you do, God will show up and boom! You’re amazed!” she shared.
Once you experience your miracle or something amazing from God, you’re going to want to move forward with Him because you’ll know that He has so much more in store for you!
“It puts a skip into your step, it puts a smile on your face, it puts your head up, so you can see what’s ahead,” said Michelle.
Do not fret because even if you got to a place where you feel stuck or if you happen to stray, God’s grace is sufficient to get you out of that place and God is bigger than your mistake! God’s plan doesn’t stop in your life just because you made a mistake. He forgives you and looks to get you out of that mistake you made, and even provides you with restoration. Our part is to believe Him and when we do, we begin to walk that life out. Everything you need is found in that path that God has set before you!
