The highly celebrated and humorous Serbian-Australian evangelist and motivational speaker, Nick Vujicic recently visited Malaysia, where he made an impact on thousands of people. Many queued up at City Harvest Church, Kuala Lumpur (CHCKL) under the hot sun for hours before his talk for a good seat. The place was flooded with people, more than it could hold; more than 9500 people at the talk, far exceeding its expected number!
Fun fact: To date, Nick has hugged over 350,000 people and holds the Guinness Book of World Record for most hugs in an hour!
God overcomes any Disability
Nick stands out among the crowd because he has emerged triumphant through life’s hardship and in the pursuit of life’s greatest purpose, which has impacted the whole world. Most people struggle with life and they are totally able! Yet, he has no hands and legs but he’s totally able to do what we can do and more, all through the help of God.
“Reading the Word and asking for revelation… that is a transforming encounter with God that renews you into a new creation!” he shared. The word transforms your heart and your mind and deems you unstoppable. “Why? Because when you are weak you are strong. Why? Because when you cannot walk, the Lord Jesus carries you!” he said.
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
(John 9: 1-4)
When Nick was younger, he was touched when he read the story in the Bible about Jesus healing the man that was born blind. After reading the verses above, he thought, “Wow! God, if you had a plan for the blind man, you do have a plan for me” Through that, he began his personal relationship with Jesus and soon enough, doors flung open as youth groups and churches started calling him. ”Opportunities opened up everywhere for me to share my testimony,” he said. He then realized that through sharing, God was ministering to people through him.
Transformation doesn’t happen until you have Faith
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
(Jeremiah 29:11)
God has a plan and a greater purpose for you that will change your life, though you can’t see it. “For me to receive something that I can’t see takes faith. Faith is a gift from God that is given to you as you hear the word. God’s breath and life are in every scripture in the Bible, from the front cover to the back,” he said.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
(2 Timothy 3:16)
God breathes into any circumstances and bring life, joy, hope, and healing. “I prayed for arms and legs and my arms and legs didn’t come but arms and legs or not, I needed a greater healing” he said. There are bigger disabilities than dying of sicknesses. All of us are going to die one day and that’s worse than having no arms and legs. What’s the benefit of having everything in this world if you lose your soul?
The Great Miracle!
Nick has been to many countries and said in unwavering certainty that when there are more spiritual oppression, more miracles will occur. “Pray for God to give you the greatest miracle of all, and that is first knowing Him,” he said.
Nick then began to tell a story of when him travelled to India in 2008. While he was there, he visited the red light district where girls aged 16 and above were kidnapped at a young age of 10 years old. They were sold for 700 USD and forced into prostitution. Many of them were in fact sold by their parents because they needed the money.
“We spoke to 600 slaves and all their bosses and pimps,” he said. After he spoke to them, Nick and his team went into their houses and found a very old woman lying on a rug on the floor; she was sick and unable to do anything. Nick went next to her and while he was there, he looked up at the walls and saw all the gods she was worshipping, top to bottom, left to right.
He started talking to her through a translator about Jesus but she was so weak that her mouth was constantly opened. She had been paralyzed for years. “All of a sudden a woman walks into the room, very angry with me and asks, ‘Who are you!? What are you doing here? What are you talking about?’” he said. When Nick told her that they were talking about Jesus, she angrily shouted, “I don’t want to hear about your God!”
“It’s really interesting how some people don’t want to sometimes hear about my God. They want everything… they want the joy and the hope that they see in me, my values, my attitudes, but they don’t want to hear about my God,” he said.
But by the grace of God, the lady said, “Show me that your God is real, don’t just talk, show me! Make my sister walk!” So, they kept praying over her. At the beginning they lifted her up but she couldn’t walk. She was visibly in pain but they did not give up. They kept praying while massaging her leg this time. All of a sudden, there was a sudden life in her! And she said, “I’m ready!”
This old woman then miraculously began to walk and could even jump; she was healed! Her sister, who tested them however, was in so much joy that she went to her wall of gods in appreciation. Nick then said, “No, no, no, that wasn’t your gods. Haven’t you been praying to your gods for years? That wasn’t your god, that was Jesus and He loves you.”
When they got back to the hotel, Nick’s friend who took them there sat him down and told him that this old woman who walked wasn’t just any ordinary woman. She was the one who started the red light district and made money from destroying thousands of girl’s lives. She was evil. Nick was amazed that this woman did so much evil and yet God pursued her!
“God loves us all, Jesus died for all, and if you believe it, then you’ll receive it. Those are the people who are saved. Don’t believe that God’s love for you is conditional, He loves all people but you have to turn your back on all the lies and believe in him,” said Nick.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Living in God’s Power
When you have faith in God, you’ll live in His power, strength and wisdom, not your’s. He makes all things beautiful in His time. God said what He said and meant everything, and because He wanted us to come to Him with in own free will, He gave us a choice to believe Him or not to believe.
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.
(Matthew 7:24-27)
“I don’t care what I have on this earth just give me Jesus… He doesn’t just love me because I am an evangelist. He loves me because I’m His son and when my son kicked in my wife’s womb and I felt him kick for the first time. I was so moved with emotions that I looked my wife in the eyes, filled with tears and said, “I love him,’” said Nick. Though he has not yet heard his son’s cry, he loved him because it’s his son. That’s the same way God loves you because you are His.
“Love, love, love, pray, pray, and pray… and God will show you His glory. It won’t be exactly what you think but no matter what He’ll love you, He’ll use you, He’ll protect you, every step of the way,” shared Nick. We are sinful people; give two three-year-old boys a toy and you’ll see pride and greed but may God humble our hearts to confess our sins to Him. God will give you a new mind and a new heart if you believe.
