The Word This Week

23 Sept 2013 by Rev Dr. Jai –

Jesus said, If you believe, all things are possible to him who believes.( Mark 9:22)

You know what? God does not bless anybody by accident. God is always moved by your faith. God is always moved by your belief system. Remember every time someone came to him for a healing or a miracle, Jesus would say most of the time "your faith has made you whole"

Therefore you can't sit on the fence of doubt and uncertainty and expect God to intervene on behalf of you in your crisis. The woman with the issue of blood in (Mark 5:25-35) she shifted her faith to such a violent and aggressive level that she literally drew the power of healing from Jesus by just touching his clothes. She suffered 12 years chasing after doctors who could not heal her despite spending all she had.

I am going to give you 5 areas that you need to seriously address if you want to see the power of God's blessings breaking through for you.

1) You need to live in alignment with God's word.

Matt 6:33, Put God first in your life. Your life should be in the way of God. God's standard! God's measures! Godliness is profitable in every single area  of your life no matter what it is. Any standards or measure that is not in line with God’s word, we need to reject it quickly. The moment you compromise, the enemy will find you and take over and start promoting his own agenda in your life. Jesus relied on the Word of God alone to overcome obstacles, including the devil.

2) Live a life of Faith. Heb.11:1

Remember we walk by faith and not by sight. Our faith is based on the things that we do not see but yet anticipate to see. Hebrews 11:6 states, "And without faith it is impossible to please God."So what we first believe is what we hope to see in due course. The word of God is the source of energy your faith. Remember! It is like the fuel that runs your machine.

3) Live decisively.

You got to be able to make decisions in your life. What we become depends not on our condition but on our decisions. Remember you are where you are today because of certain decisions that you had made in the past that was in line with God's programme for you. Make your choice! Make your decision!  Do not procrastinate! But do not forget God's standards according to his word! When you compromise what is right in order to please man you will dishonour God. "And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."Rom. 12:2 KJV

4) Live courageously.

2Tim 1:7  For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

Do not allow fear to take root in your life! The enemy great weapon is the strategy of fear. When he can conquer you with fear, you become vulnerable. Remember you have all the authority and power through the blood of Jesus to rebuke fear.

Eph.6:10 "Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might".

Fear is not from God, fear is from the enemy! Fear will paralyse you if you are unable to recognise it.

Isa.54:17 If you are in Christ, no weapon formed against you shall ever prosper.

5) Live your life with great expectation.

Live everyday with expectation. You know what? It is so exciting to live like that. I expect a miracle in my life! I expect God to do something new in my life. I believe in a God who answers prayers. I believe in a miracle working God! When you live like that, you beat! You will walk in the reality of your expectation. Listen!

Here is a principle you need to understand, God can only meet you at your level of expectation. If you are not expecting anything from him then you are simply wasting your time.

Jesus said in (Matt 16:24) Then Jesus said to his disciples, Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me"

In other words he is saying, anyone who intends to come to me, you ought to let me lead you. He is simply saying "You are not in the driver’s seat anymore! I am"

You know what? I see so many people trying to do it their own way and ends up miserably with their boat rocked over! And over! And over again!

Jesus said in John 15:5  "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing".

God will do great things for you when you learn to trust him and walk in obedience in his ways.
