The GLOBAL DAY OF WORSHIP (GDOW)
Every once a year, the worshippers of our Lord JESUS gather together in Spirit and in Truth, for a single FOCUS, with a single HEART, in a single SURRENDER to bring about the unification of ALL in the name of Jesus.
1 Cor 12:12
12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
WHEN DID IT ALL BEGIN?
The first Global Day of Worship was birthed on November 11, 2011. Several worship leaders initiated the idea that through the platform of Praise and Worship, we can bring ALL things to a halt in honor of our Lord JESUS. And no one should be separated by differences in worship practices or expressions, be it across various denominations, languages, cultures, color or creed.
Last year the GDOW was deliberately held on 12 December 2012, reflecting 1 Corinthians 12:12 where Apostle Paul wrote about the Unity and Diversity of the Body of Christ.
THE GDOW VALUES
1. Keeping The Focus
The GDOW will unite the body of Christ despite differences in worship practices, expressions and theology across denominations, cultures, languages or nations. It’s ALL about our Lord JESUS, the only true Glory of God where his sacrifice is beyond any intellectual comprehension. It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit would one be able to begin to understand what true LOVE is. And therefore, our Worship is all about Jesus, where our love for God, to His honor, our respect, our obedience and appreciation are all to be centred only upon our Lord JESUS. When we focus upon Him, and in Him, ‘judgement’ disappears and differences among groups matters not. Our focus remains unmoved in JESUS and He shall triumph deservingly as Lord and Saviour.

2. Inspiring True Worship
True Worship is an ‘expression’ of one’s innermost feelings and heart’s desires to ‘share joy in love and peace’ with someone else. JESUS is looking for true worshipers willing to build a throne of praise and worship, to bring others along, to usher the rest into purposeful journeys of discovery. He reminds us in 2 Chronicles 20:15, where the Lord reassured us the battle is not ours, but God’s. The victory strategy is for us to lift up our heads towards heaven, declare his Lordship and witness the victory of our Lord.
2 Chronicles 20:15
15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
In this GDOW, come forth to worship the Lord with all your hearts, all your minds and all your souls, for He so desires for ALL to participate and not merely stand as spectators. Stand up to worship our Lord JESUS on this GDOW, wherever you are and in whatever form you prefer through singing, conversations, painting, dancing, jogging, or other forms and activities-alone or with the family, house group, church or other Christians around us.

3. Uniting Time Zones
It is across the nations, through the varying cultures and amongst the different peoples, comes this global call to Worship. What a powerful movement, using a common purpose through Worship, the GDOW brings together and unite the different Time Zones across the globe. A wave of worship upon the Lord JESUS, and a cry of victory that the Battle has been won. Awesome.
4. The Technology Connect
The creation of Technology – surely this came into being for the purpose to fulfill His Will? The rapid developments in Technology has today brought His children even closer. The world now seamless and borderless. Today, the Internet serves truly to be a wonderful conductor for worship. LIVE streaming allows worshippers all around the globe to ‘connect’ and bring together an incredibly powerful, powerful drive and movement in praise and worship. It is when the worship of heaven meets the worship of earth that spiritual climates collide and the birth of ONENESS in Spirit takes place, and we shall continue to serve faithfully in preparation for the Lord’s return.
PREPARING OUR HEARTS, MINDS AND SOULS
Through His Word, God reminds us of His constant search for True Worshippers:
- Those who come to His footstool to exalt Him
5 Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy
- Those who bow down and kneel before Him
6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker
- Those who worship the Lord in the splendour of His holy name
2 Ascribe to the Lord, the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
We need to prepare our hearts, minds and souls to come forth in Worship.
23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
There is a need for a truly fresh awakening of the power in our worship and what is released. God works in an atmosphere of worship. Worship is really what we are all created for. There is really nothing else. For one day, when we arrive at the Kingdom, the depth and width of things would just be about worshipping the Lord.
Come that day, all of us would automatically be brought together as ONE through the depth, width and height of His love for us, and to remain in His Kingdom forever and ever.
THAT is our purposeful journey in WORSHIP.
Since coming to the Lord in 2005, Robbin was introduced to an entire new world of music, the Christian Contemporary Music (CCM). The Lord’s plan for Robbin’s journey in worship was just about to begin. And so by 2007, he was asked to lead worship in the home cell group he was attending. With a God-given passion for music, he found strength in the Lord and perseverance to diligently serve in this role week-in and week-out over the last six (6) years with only some sparing moments of non-availability. God has since expanded his horizon and he now regularly leads worship in his own home cell group, in an FGB (Full Gospel Businessmen) Chapter, in a corporate Christian Fellowship group and also as a choir / singing member of the Resonate team, the resident worship team at DUMC (Damansara Utama Methodist Church). By the grace of God, he also had the privilege to be called to serve in several weddings and funeral wakes. This is his mission calling to share the Lord’s messages in serving God’s community through the field of music and leading worship. And his journey continues…
