A Christmas Treat; Music and the Gospel – Brad White

24 Dec 2013 by Natasha Kim CM –

The multi-talented Brad White recently ministered to the people of City Revival Subang on the 15th of December. The two time Grammy nominee, has authored his own Christian piano course that is being used worldwide and has recorded at least a dozen vocal, piano, and saxophone albums as well. Brad has written songs like “It was for the love of me” and appeared on the 2003 Grammy winning album, “They called him Mr. Gospel Music”. He said, “God is good!” He has ministered at some of America’s best known Churches, but whether the churches number to thousands or just a hundred he ministers with the same passion and enthusiasm.

The very moment Brad stepped onto the pulpit and began sharing, he had the ability to liven up the room with his cheery smile and enthusiastic ways.“I don’t know what kind of bad news you might have gotten this week but I’ll tell you the greatest news since the angels came and told the shepherds that Jesus was coming the first time. The greatest news you’ll ever hear again is that Jesus Christ is coming again!” he said.He was funny and told many jokes which made that particular Sunday morning especially enjoyable with an added Christmas cheer! Together they sang Christmas and Gospel songs while they were entertained.

He shared that nothing would make him despise God and reminded the people of the news they heard from him last year of his wife battling cancer. “Since that has been going on things get a little more in perspective in your life, and I wake up every morning saying, “Lord this will be a great day for you to come back”. I’m ready and I’m going to live like he’s coming back” he said. Brad wants to tell as many people as he can tell about Christ!“What we need to be about is sharing Jesus and the Gospel” he said.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Nowadays Churches don’t sing much about the return of Christ anymore and we need to do that. “We live in a dangerous spiritual time and I see the Church everywhere I go being pulled by secondary’s (second rank in importance of values). Don’t follow somebody just because there’s a big crowd, it doesn’t matter because when Jesus preached the Gospel He lost the crowd! Though none go with me, still I will follow” shared Brad. We need the discernment of the Holy Spirit to understand the rights and wrongs that are going on in Churches, in society and in our households.

Mark 16:15-17

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.

At the end of the scripture above, verse 17 tells us that “signs will follow those who believe”. However, Brad shared that people nowadays are so caught up in signs today that we are seeking the signs. “We’re thinking oh! If they just see a miracle that they’re going to get saved but it’s not what the scripture said. The scripture tells us to preach the gospel for miracles to happen! “If you want to see miracles in this Church, in your life, in your family, and more, preach the Gospel! Share Jesus! We’re too caught up in wanting God to meet whatever needs we want today, but are we about our fathers business? Are we sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

“Friends, my wife has cancer and she’s doing well, it’s been a blessed year, she feels good and looks good but the prognosis has not changed. She has a death sentence, and you know what… I want you to pray for her and I want to pray for your needs, but if everyone got healed, the kingdom of God is still not advanced. For me the worst tragedy in this world is if my wife should die, but the real tragedy is if somebody in this room, underneath the sound of my voice didn’t know Jesus Christ, and left this room and had eternal death” he shared. We are so caught up in the hearing that we’ve forgotten that what’s really important is the souls of men.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
