Last Monday , 17th September, a total of nine churches in the Klang Valley held the first 12 hour praise and worship marathon at the Global Business and Convention Centre in Section 19, Petaling Jaya. The event brought together close to 250 on-fire youths and faithful members together passionately worshipping and praying to God the whole time. It was the time of Jubilee to rend the heavens for God’s favor to reign in this nation.

The event ran continuously for 12 hours from 9.00 am until 9.00pm at night. The previous worship event was for 7 hours and in this 12 hour marathon, it was amazing to see the hunger, fire, passion and the heart of worship of all the teams present. The atmosphere for worship and soaking in God’s presence was just wonderful. Other forms of expressing worship such as in prophetic art, painting and sketching was also encouraged during the event.

Rev Chan Theam Lai, the General Secretary of NECF was present to grace this special event and to deliver Malaysia’s Jubilee message.  The participating churches were from Charis Christian Centre AOG (BM), Christian Life Gospel Centre Damansara Perdana, Eaglepoint Puchong, Faith Christian Centre Sunway, Good Tidings Assembly Shah Alam, Joshua Generation Christian Fellowship (Tamil) Klang, Kingdom City KL, River of Christ Church Kota Damansara and OOPS! Asia (Ministry).

A big heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Monica and Sister Shamini Ruth of River of Christ Church Kota Damansara and all the working committee for their sacrifices and labor of love for the body of Christ. The same worshipping spirit was spoken by the Psalmist in Psalms 84:10 that “better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.” The time spent in praise and worship and in prayer was indeed a meaningful and a fruitful one. With believing faith in prayers for the nation, the church and individuals, the faithful Lord will reward us in His time.

Pastor Monica, when interviewed prior to the event whether there will be a 24 hour worship next year, she mentioned that, “We are not rushing to make that happen though, all will happen in His time.” With unceasing prayers and faith to move mountains, and interceding for more churches willing to release their worship teams in the future, the 24 hour event will become a reality. Yes, in His time He makes all things beautiful! All glory and praise to the Lord!
