As a man thinketh in his heart so is he (Prov 23:7)
If you fail in your mind you will not succeed in any area of your life or ministry.
Success or failure in your life is really an inside job. Your success or your failure in your life will not be determined by anything that happens outside in your world, in your environment or in your church.
A BORN-AGAIN believer will always be influenced by God’s standards to guide his life. And God will always give you a seed for success but it is first incubated in your mind and your heart.
In life, we cannot escape facing problems. We all have to deal with certain circumstances, sometimes a mixture of circumstances; easy, difficult, crazy and ridiculous circumstances so to speak.
But you know what? Circumstances will not make you successful or unsuccessful.
However, how you deal with those circumstances will determine whether you will succeed or whether you will fail.
If you are transformed in your renewed mind you will succeed in your life and ministry.
So what I am saying is that your success or failure is an inside job. It’s not out there. You do not have to change your circumstances to be successful or unsuccessful. You do not have to change your circumstances to determine the outcome of your life. You do not have to change the people how they treat you to see the outcome of your life. You do not have to change anything or anybody out there but you have a lot of changing to do in your mind and your heart. You will have to change how you think about your circumstances. The people you are connected to, the church you go to, the businesses you are dealing with.
There are people who live their lives trying to control other people. Trying to manipulate, trying to change them, trying to make them different. They think if I can only change the people in my life my life will become better. They are under the impression that everybody else is the problem.
So they are trying to change their wives, they are trying to change their husbands, they are trying to change their pastor. Everybody wants to change their pastor if he preaches too long. Doesn’t preach long enough. Preaches things I don’t care about. Whatever!
You know what?
Can I say something to you? Even if you succeed in changing everybody, at the end of the day, you will not be successful in your life. Because success is not out there. You success does not depend on other people. Your success or failure in your life or ministry is in your mind and heart.
Jesus said in this world you will have tribulations but be of good cheer I am an overcomer!
You got to bring your heart and your mind in alignment with the spirit of God and the word of God to maximize the potential that God has placed in your life.
I can tell you God has called some of you today to do something bigger than you have ever dreamed off. God has given you a vision so big that humanly it may sound ridiculous or beyond your capacity to accomplish.
God did not call you to do small things but the small things that you faithfully carry out are there because you are on the way to accomplishing the big things God has called you to do. If you object to doing small things you will never make it to the big things that He will call you to do. So do not despise the days of small beginnings.
How many of you realize that God gives you a vision that is so big that it will scar some of you. God always gives you a vision that is beyond your human capacity to accomplish. But there is no vision that is so big for a man or woman that cannot be accomplished as long as your heart and mind is in alignment with God.
The alignment issue is a HEART and MIND issue and has nothing to do with circumstances. It has everything to do with your THINKING and everything to do with what you are BELIEVING. With the right mind operating in the right way you will succeed. With the wrong attitude of mind or with the wrong attitude of heart you will not succeed.
It’s appalling to discover the excuses and reasons people give as to why they are unsuccessful in life. They will blame everything outside of themselves EXCEPT THEMSELVES. They will blame their circumstances, they will blame the people, they will blame the economy. They will blame the system. When you hear that, you are hearing people who are believing something which is not true. There are hearing the wrong voice not the voice of God.
Rom 12:2: Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind….(j.b Philips trans.)
Do not allow the circumstances of this world to squeeze you into its mould.
There are two kinds of people in this world. One is called the transformer and 2) the other the conformer. Two kinds of Christians.
No 1) The conformer is squeezed into the mould by the circumstances in their life.
No.2) The transformer is a risk-taker who renews his mind by God’s word.
God wants me to be in charge of my life under His direction. God will not drive my vehicle for me. God will do what you cannot do, but not until you do what you can do.
If you are praying to God for what He has already given you the ability, capacity and resources to do, you are just wasting your time. Get up and start doing it.
To some people prayer is for being passive. For some people prayer is to look spiritual but not to take any risk. A lot of Christians are praying about some things God has told them to do years ago. They are still praying about it today. They are conformers waiting for the circumstances to be perfect. If you are waiting for your circumstances to be perfect you are never going to do anything at all. If you waiting for the weather to be right you will never sow your seed.
Ess 11:4New International Version
Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
God is saying no matter what your circumstances is, move forward and sow. The biggest risk a believer can take is refuse to take the risk. The biggest risk a believer can take is to play it safe. Avoiding the risk. Because faith is a risk. Faith is stepping out of your comfort zone. The conformers’ philosophy is don’t rock the boat. Don’t get people upset.
You must think differently in order to succeed differently. You don’t have to change your vision but you must change your approach. You cannot hope to stay in the same zone of mindset and expect God to change your circumstances, neither can you keep doing the same thing and expect to see different results. It’s very sad to see people repeatedly use the same strategy in the midst of numerous trials to achieve their goals in life.
Wishing you a blessed Chinese New Year.
