22nd October 2012, by Adeline Lum, CM –
Pastor Jayarajan D., president of the Taman Desa Chapter of Full Gospel Business Men’s (FGB) Fellowship, is a joyous man of the Lord who generously sprinkled his conversation with “hallelujah” and “praise the Lord.” Lovingly called as Pastor J.D., he welcomed me with his megawatt-smile as he led me into the worship hall just outside his office.
On October 19, I visited the Taman Desa Chapter of FGB chaired by Mr Chong Han Hoi.
The service started with Joy leading the cozy and delightful service, followed by the guests taking turn at the pulpit to share his or her testimony.
Mr Chong shared how he felt encouraged by his neighbor who wanted to follow him to the FGB event. He felt God’s grace was upon his neighbor because his neighbor took initiative without invitation.
Pastor Joseph Raja shared how he chose to rejoice in God even during troubled moments. Although he was trapped in traffic for 45 minutes while experiencing chest pain, Pastor Joseph sang worship songs in his car until he reached the hospital. He viewed his pain as an opportunity to pray for the sick in the hospital.
Joy shared how the Lord made her bold to share about God, and how she was touched with Pastor J.D. ministry, The Ambassadors International Church, for sending people out to serve, and not keeping people in church.
Reverend Cliff Njoku from Nigeria also shared about making powerful prayers to God. His son had been hospitalized frequently, until one day, Reverend Cliff prayed with conviction and faith that God would heal his son. Since that prayer, his son had been healthy without any hospitalization for a few years.
Reverend Cliff was also the speaker on that day. After the guests shared their testimonies, Reverend Cliff talked about the prevalence of idol worshipping in many Asian countries.
Reverend Cliff shared Isaiah 44:9-20, of which Isaiah 44:13 says, “the carpenter measures with a line and makes an outline with a marker; he roughs it out with chisels and marks it with compasses. He shapes it in human form, human form in all its glory, that it may dwell in a shrine.”
Indeed, this verse shows that humans tend to glorify their own image, instead of glorifying God. While humans had been attempting to carve out God’s image for ages, God cannot be confined to any object.
Habakkuk 2:20 says, “The Lord is in his holy temple, let all the earth be silent before him.” Also, Isaiah 66:1 says, “Thus says the Lord, “Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. Where then is a house you could build for me? And where is a place that I may rest?”
Reverend Cliff thank God because He is everywhere and omnipresent, so that we can gain access to him.
Psalm 139:7-10 say, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend into heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there; if I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”
In closing, Pastor J.D. said that our connection with God, like a cell phone communication signal, must always be full.
“Talk to God all the time. You do not need to talk to Him for a whole hour but talk to Him throughout your day for a minute or so,” said Pastor J.D.
The lunch service was inspiring and delightful, recharging everyone before they reenter the marketplace.
