The Ear and Mouth Decision

A clash of opinion and issues happen when both parties are locked into focusing on their own expectations without a willingness to build a bridge of trust. The perennial question remains – Who should make the first move in building this bridge of trust? Everybody wants to voice their issue and side of the story first. Many desire to teach but not many are willing to listen.

Introducing the Ear and Mouth Decision – in order to break this trap of self-focused expectations, one party needs to exercise the responsibility of playing the role of the Ear. There are two criteria to help decide who should play the role of the Ear. Similarly, there are also two descriptions pertaining to the person who should take on the role of the Mouth.
