Praise Home is a non-profit organization that was founded by Church of Praise Ipoh in 1998. This home reaches out to destitute, orphaned and underprivileged children and is a shelter that provides care and love in a family environment. Currently, Church of Praise has two homes – Praise Boys Home and Praise Girls Home, and together they have 45 children ages 3 to 18. The homes are also supporting several teens who are furthering their tertiary studies.
The five-fold aim of Praise Home are to bless the children with a place they can call home, a place where they will be shown love, compassion, understanding and care. Secondly, to help the children in their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual development. This includes helping them overcome their abused emotions through counseling and prayer. Third, Praise Home aims to motivate the children to do well in their studies and in life by developing in them positive self-worth. Praise Home also aims to teach the children to be good, self-reliant and responsible adults. Last but not least, Praise Home aims to lead the children to a loving relationship with God and other people.
At present, however, these homes are rented property, and whenever the owner needs it, the children have to be moved to another place. Added to the hassle of moving the children from one place to another is the problem of permit reapplications from various authorities.
Thus, Praise Home is organizing a concert entitled ‘For The Children 2012’ in collaboration with Thailand Sanctuary Symphony Orchestra on the 10th of November at 8.00pm, MH Hotel, Ipoh. Funds raised from this event will be used to purchase a permanent premise for the children of Praise Home. Additionally, a souvenir program book, whereby one can advertise will be published to commensurate this event.
