Kajang Assembly of God (KAOG) has long been known for its vibrant community and heart for the next generation. Out of this passion, a movement was born – 1Gen, short for One Generation. We featured them at the end of March and they have continued to grow. It started with a bold vision: to impact young people through real conversations, meaningful connections, and the redemptive love of God.
More than a ministry, 1Gen is a vibrant Christian community of youth and young adults dedicated to bring life, truth, and hope to others they meet, whether in person or via the Internet. From this heartbeat emerges now an exciting new forum: 1Gen Talks (A Lot), a podcast series that speaks directly to the very heart of this generation. The podcast features monthly episodes in which special guests share openly about their own life journeys, struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. No two episodes are the same, yet they are all connected by underlying threads of authenticity, transparency, and stories of transformation.

The stories shared on 1Gen Talks (A Lot) are raw, real, and deeply relatable, spanning from spiritual growth and discovering identity to failure, career journeys, leadership, and even travel adventures. The talks aren’t edited into ‘polished’ soundbites. They are authentic sharings from people who have walked through real seasons of life and come out the other side with stories worth telling.
“We believe learning doesn’t just happen in classrooms,” the team shares. “It comes from stories, life experiences, and authentic moments. Through this platform, we aim to spark transformation, inspire purpose, and fuel continuous growth in the lives of today’s youth.”

At the heart of the podcast is Alyssa Lee, a dynamic and young leader who wears many hats. She is the producer, the coordinator, and the glue that holds the project together. From scheduling speakers to guiding the creative team and organizing each episode’s release, Alyssa brings energy, focus, and excellence to every stage of the project. It is her deep belief in the power of story that drives this podcast forward.
She is joined by the show’s welcoming and creative host, Andrea Chow. Andrea adds her own flair to each episode by asking the right questions, making each guest feel comfortable and welcome, and allowing them to open up and share from the heart. Andrea’s ability to connect with her guests is part of why 1Gen Talks (A Lot) resonates so deeply with those who tune in.

Supporting the dynamic duo is a solid and hardworking technical crew (Dayvin Rushil, Daniel Au, and Brian Low) that does all the behind-the-scenes magic of audio recording and editing. They ensure every episode sounds professional. The vibe and visuals are brought to life by Chen Sin Yee who manages the stage and backdrop design, working alongside Shu Yi and a dedicated creative team to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Though the podcast is still young, the list of its past guests is impressive. Since its launch, 1Gen Talks (A Lot) has featured a compelling lineup of speakers from various backgrounds and life experiences, all with something valuable to share:
- “Season to Season” with Pastor Kalarani takes listeners into the pastor’s life as a missionary in Cambodia, offering a glimpse into the challenges and faith behind her calling.
- “A Crown with A Purpose” by Sandra Lim, Miss Universe Malaysia 2024, shares the struggles and perseverance behind the beauty queen’s journey to the crown.

- “Your Identity” by Gurmit Singh, where the iconic Singaporean actor and comedian, opens up with a powerful testimony about how he came to know the love of Christ
- “Is Failure the End?” by Dr. Benny and Sis Zanbeni in which the couple shared their inspiring experiences serving in the mission field, from overcoming setbacks to achieving a Guinness World Record
- “The Next Generation of Leaders” in which YB Syahredzan, the respected local MP, gave a thought-provoking talk on leadership and explored what it means to prepare a generation for influence and impact
More than just episodes in a series, they each represent real people, real journeys, and real faith in action. Each speaker brings something unique. Whether it is a perspective, a challenge, or a moment of truth the guests all share one thing in common: the courage to speak honestly, the heart to share freely, and the passion to help others grow. For the 1Gen team, this is exactly why the podcast exists.
“We’re just getting started,” Alyssa says. “And yes, at 1Gen we really do talk a lot. But more importantly, we talk with purpose. Even now, we can see that God is using this platform to plant seeds of hope, healing, and vision in the lives of so many.”

And as long as there are stories to be told and lives to be impacted, they’ll keep the conversations going. Looking ahead, the team has plans to grow the podcast’s reach, feature even more diverse voices, and continue developing creative ways to connect with their audience.
