“Do not give the devil a foothold” (Eph 4:27)

King Solomon said, “WORDS” kill, “WORDS” give life. What you speak out has the capacity to either bless or curse SOMEBODY. In other words, your words are like “nitroglycerin” they can blow-up bridges or heal hearts.

DON’T SAY ANYTHING JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO SAY SOMETHING

Wisdom dictates that the best time to hold your tongue is when you feel like you want to say something just because you want to feel important. Secondly have you ever discovered that ignorance is always eager to speak, resulting in hurtful remarks? You know what? When you don’t know what to say, just shut up! And say nothing and listen! After all, you learn nothing while you are talking without wisdom. Never let your pride be your guide.

WISDOM OF GOD IS PEACE & PATIENCE

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philip 4:7)

The wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure and full of quite gentleness. Then it is peace loving and courteous. It allows discussion, has a teachable spirit, willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy, compassion and good deeds. It is whole hearted, straightforward and sincere. And those who are peace makers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness. (James 3:17-18)

THE ENEMY WANTS TO CONQUER YOUR PEACE

Many of us are ignorant of the fact that there is so much power in peace. There is nowhere you will find peace except in Jesus. Have you ever discovered that the first territory the enemy wants to take over and conquer is your peace because that’s the seat of your power and sound mind. The devil is all out to get you upset and the only way he could do it is by stealing your peace. The moment he succeeds he can get you off balanced and make you run in circles. Then he will sit back and smile all the way through.

YOUR UNCONTROLLABLE ANGER CAN BLOW BRIDGES

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath (Eph.4:26)

Listen! Next time you get all worked up! You get angry! Ask yourself, “What is the enemy trying to do here?”

Experts say anger is a healthy normal emotional condition of the human body. These emotions are part of us because they are part of God, and we are made in God’s image. But emotions can be overwhelmingly powerful and beyond control sometimes in some people.

However despite what the experts say, many lives have been hijacked and destroyed because of explosive temper and aggressive anger!

YOU HAVE A CHOICE

Although you may not be in control of your circumstances outside of you but you are in control of the expression of your anger which is inside you. It is within your control to express your anger within a reasonable boundary, without being verbally or physically abusive. Even if someone is pushing your buttons, the fact of the matter is you have a choice as to how to respond.

Prov.25:28  “If you cannot control your anger, you are as helpless as a city without  walls, open to attack.”

BESIDES, ANGRY PEOPLE MISS OUT ON GOD’S BLESSINGS

You are ignorant if you think that true power comes from being loud in volume, dominating, pressuring, manipulating and aggressively bullying others. People may be afraid of you superficially but they won’t respect you at the back. Have you ever noticed angry people can’t control themselves or handle opposing viewpoints or counselling? But Paul is warning us against putting a “hot-head” in a position of spiritual leadership.

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing (Proverbs 12:18).

A FORGIVING HEART BRINGS PROSPERITY TO YOUR LIFE

Remember the life of Joseph. He fed those who imprisoned and abused him. He blessed those who betrayed him. You know what? In so doing, he prospered and was favoured by God to a level he could hardly imagine! Joseph had a forgiving heart! Joseph controlled his emotions! And he was set free from his anger and revenge over his own brothers.

You just need to learn how to express your feelings within a safe boundary in a more productive manner that will not hinder God’s blessing and favour, which can only flow into your life when you can dwell in peace.
