“But God in His rich mercy, because of His great love for all of us, He gives us grace—the grace that came through His only begotten son, Jesus—that whosoever believes in His Son shall not perish but have eternal life.

“This is the greatest gift to mankind. It is the gift of righteousness and eternal life. Christmas is a celebration time of the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior who came down from Heaven to earth. The great and amazing love of God reaches out to all!” said Bryan Gan, emcee of the Christmas party.

This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. (1 John 4:9)

Next, Datin Alicia Tiah came on-stage to present a song entitled, “My God will Lead.” Written by Tanimura Shinji and popularized by Teresa Teng in Japanese and Cantonese, Datin Alicia created a beautiful rendition of the song. Originally titled as ‘Star’, she titled her rendition as “My God will Lead.”

“Let us look forward to this New Year with hope and confidence… for God knows the plan He has for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us a hope and a future,” said Datin Alicia.

After the song presentation, Datuk Tony Tiah shared a testimony of God’s goodness, particularly for his longtime friend Tan Sri Chan Ah Chye, Chairman of Talam Transform Bhd, who recently accepted Christ.

Datuk Tony Tiah shared about the unconditional love of God, which we ought to exemplify and practice instead of passing critical judgment.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:34-35)

While the Old Testament described God’s love as conditional or reciprocal only upon obedience, the New Testament described God’s love as an agape type of love.

We love Him because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

“Because of God’s love for us, we can take comfort. If we are going through trials and tribulations, I know in my heart that He will rescue me in time of crisis.

“When we are weak and crying out for help, God will come in and I am humbled. It’s not because of what I have done but because of His love for me,” said Datuk Tony.

“This is a strong testimony. You see; God rewards those who diligently seek Him. You think you lose out but you do not lose out. During the time of crisis, it’s the love of God that anchored him. (Tan Sri Chan)

“If you are going through a crisis in life, anchor yourself in the love of God because He will definitely rescue you. Pray to Him when you feel helpless. When you are strong and depend too much on the flesh, it’s difficult for God to intervene.

“But when you are humbled, He releases His grace and His unmerited favor on you,” said Datuk Tony.

After Tan Sri Chan Ah Chye accepted Christ, many of his staffs accepted Christ as well. And together with his believing staffs, they would start their day by praying over their company’s issues and plans. Today, Tan Sri Chan Ah Chye had finished paying all his loans. Praise the Lord!

Next, the choir from Talam Transform Bhd presented some songs as Tan Sri Chan Ah Chye shared his testimony. Tan Sri Chan has penned Christian lyrics in English to more than 35 popular Chinese songs.

“In life, trials will come, storms will come. But it is the matter of how we look at the storm. We must have the right perception. Look at it with how God wants us to look at the storm,” said Tan Sri Chan.

“There is a beginning and an end to all these trials. And if we walk closely with God, He will see us through. In the midst of our storm, Jesus is always in it,” he added.

With his personal conviction of Proverbs 19:21, Tan Sri Chan Ah Chye decided to give every of his company issues and plans to the Lord.

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

(Prov 19:21)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles us. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(Hebrews 12:1-2)
