River of Life Sanctuary Bandar Puteri recently celebrated their 12th Anniversary and Malaysia Day on the 14th of September! It has been their tradition from the very beginning to celebrate both on the closest Sunday to the 15th of September. On that special day, the service saw an assembly of their different ministries coming together in unity, namely English, Bahasa Melayu, and Chinese. The celebration began with praise and worship, followed by Shofar-blowing to initiate the opening of the festival! Throughout the period of the celebration, they even had a remarkable emcee who was able to speak all three different languages.
At the beginning, there was a video presentation showcasing the growth of their Church and the many things they have achieved throughout the period of 12 years, followed by a variety of colourful performances. The hall was full to the brim with people as they watched in delight the performances that were set out for them. There were performances by the youth team, the praise and worship teams, the Chinese ministry, the children’s ministry, the ladies dance team, and the Nigerian team who showcased the wonderful talents given by the Lord.
When the celebration came near to a close, Pastor Dr Paul Chen came up to the altar to share a few words. He shared the following:
- We give thanks to God for His WORD for the past 12 years. “Our young are very important to us and our desire is to see them rise,” he shared.
Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors. (Psalms 119:4)
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. (Deuteronomy 6:7)
- We give thanks to God for His GRACE for the past 12 years. “God says, “I was here,” Pastor Paul shared.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22)
- We give thanks to God for His FAVOUR for the past 12 years. “God’s mercy and favour have given us the strength to be of one mind and one accord,” he shared.
Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. (Philippians 2:2)
- We give thanks to God for His WONDERS for the past 12 years.
Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. (Psalm 40:5)
- We give thanks to God for His WORKS for the past 12 years.
Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man! (Psalm 107:8)
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands (Revelation 7:9)
- We give thanks to God for He is Our ROCK.
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2)
