Have you ever wondered what like would be like if you took the limits off of God, overcame obstacles that are holding you back, and had a deeper level of peace and joy everyday of your life? No matter what your background is, how old you are, how much money you have, whether or not you have a university degree or what you have been through or are going through, you need to live with confident expectation of good things to come, and have dreams for your life.
We need to stop putting limits on God and dare to dream a big dream. If our dreams line up with God’s Word, and if it is so big that only God can bring it to pass, then it is a dream that will be worth going after. We often think we will not be able to achieve what God has put on our hearts. However, our job is to listen for God’s voice, step out in faith and obedience, and let God handle the rest. God adds the “super” to our “natural” and He is the only one who can make things happen.
What is it today that you are asking God to do that is so big that only He can do it? One of the ways we can experience new levels of victory in our lives is to begin to dream – to see and believe in faith that God and will do what He has promised. Sometimes the situation may seem overwhelming, and we have absolutely no idea how things will ever change. If this is the case, we need to change what we are focusing on, and instead of looking at the problem, start focusing on God’s promises.
In Genesis 15, Abram struggles to comprehend how his dream would ever come true. God had promised him that he would be the ‘father of many nations’, but all Abram could see what that he and his wife had no children and that they were already too old to conceive.
However, God is never limited by our problems, and in Genesis 15:5, tells Abram to “Look toward the heavens and count the s tarts – if you are able to number them.. . so shall you descendants be.” God had a destiny planned for Abram and was not limited by the circumstances surrounding Abram. And just like Abram, Gog has a dream for us. We were not created to be discouraged and unhappy. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
God has good plans for us. Regardless of the current situation or past disappointments, we need to raise our expectation of what He has in store for us. His plans for us are bigger than any problem or obstacle that we might be facing. Maybe it is your dream to get out of debt, to see your loved ones come to know the Lord, to have broken relationships restored, to start your own business, or to start a ministry or outreach. Whatever the dream is, it is never too late to dream. God has a hope and a future that is greater than anything you could imagine, and His timing is perfect!
