God has given us a unique gift —the Bible— but we often forget to read the messages He has left for us today. Let the Word of God become the lamp unto our feet and the light unto our path!
When unknown fears, anxiety or helplessness draw near to us, the Bible says:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
Of Benjamin he said: “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, Who shelters him all the day long; and he shall dwell between His shoulders.” (Deuteronomy 33:12)
The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (Psalms 121:8)
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalms 91:2)
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him (Nahum 1:7)
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:37)
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
When we feel sad or moody, the Bible says:
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. (Habakkuk 3:18)
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalms 16:11)
You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased. (Psalms 4:7)
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. (Isaiah 40:29)
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. (Psalms 42:11)
Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:4)
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them that those who love your name may rejoice in you. (Psalms 5:11)
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:11)
Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
