New Lungs in Tagatay

Eddy Yong shared about his recent trip to Manila in November, where in Jesus name, a lady who had lung failure was given new lungs! 

 

 

The voice to Tagaytay

During his trip, the cab drivers curiously reminded him to visit Tagaytay, a beautiful tourist spot with many volcanic islands, despite the slum areas that coexist with the beauty. At that moment, the Holy Spirit impressed on Eddy about Pr Jhoy, a pastor who resides there.

Hence, Eddy made plans to visit Tagaytay on his last day in the Philippines. Meeting Pr Jhoy in a local fast-food restaurant called ‘Chow King,’ Eddy was perplexed why they were still staying in the restaurant when the church service would be starting. Turned out, the church would be held in the restaurant itself through rental.

 

 

Many single mothers came with their children, dropping their tithes into the box, which coins clanked noisily. Despite their poverty, they gave generously to the Lord. The restaurant was so small that only 30 people could come for service each time, and they would have to take turn to come.

 

Breathe in new lungs, child of God

After spending more than 12 hours visiting and praying for people in the slums at Tagaytay, Pr Jhoy bought Eddy some lettuce and peanuts as a love offering before his journey home. Nevertheless, at this time, the storekeeper invited Eddy and Pr Jhoy to visit her friend who had lung failure. Although the day was drawing into darkness, Eddy decided to make a final visit there. When he reached a dingy shelter, he saw a lady lying there, grasping for air in every breath, much like a person with asthma. She could not even sit up without her husband propping her back.

 

 

When Eddy saw the lady, his heart was filled with compassion. And the only words he could mouth out according to the Holy Spirit were not words of healing but words of love, “Jesus loves you. Let him come into your life. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. When there’s no hope, Jesus is your hope.” The lady started crying and Eddy was also moved to tears. He said to her, “You are now a child of God. Take deep breaths and God will give you new lungs!” She listened, started praying, and attempted to take deep breaths. After a few breaths, she was able to breathe deeply! Praise the Lord!

 

 

In Jesus name, stand and walk!

This lady could not walk as well. Holding her up to stand with her husband, Eddy tapped her knees and tapped her back while proclaiming, “Now Jesus has healed your legs and your back. Stand and walk.” She put her feet down and they released her. Fumbling, she miraculously started walking while crying towards her storekeeper friend; for years, her friend has attempted to witness Jesus Christ to her. They hugged and cried together. All glory to God!

 

 

“There’s a purpose why God healed you. You’re not supposed to just be happy, hugging your husband, your friend, or even me. You should testify God’s goodness to you,” said Eddy, quoting Mark 5, which told how Jesus healed a demon-possessed man. But instead of letting the man follow him, Jesus asked him to testify to the people around him, so that they too would accept Christ. Hence, Eddy asked the lady to do the same as well.

 

 

LENGTHENING OF THE LEG

 

And like how the Lord had used Eddy to lengthen a Deacon’s wife’s leg, The Lord has also lengthened the leg of a lady in Bukit Tinggi. This lady had a slip disc and she needed to go through an operation with a 50/50 chance of a successful operation or a permanent paralysis.

While she asked for recovery of the slip disc, the Holy Spirit impressed on Eddy to lengthen one of her legs that was shorter than the other leg by three centimeters.  And unlike the inability to see how the Lord lengthen the Deacon’s wife’s leg, this time Eddy was able to see the leg growing into the same length as the other leg. The pain on her back was immediately gone! Indeed, whoever who asks receives, and whoever who seeks will find, whoever who knocks, the door will be opened (Matt 7:8).

“You can see the healing but the healer is not me but Jesus Christ. We must keep our eyes on our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the centre,” said Eddy Yong who quoted Romans 8:31-32.

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
