It’s official! Run for the Nation (RunNat) is now an official Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). Excitement was in the air when RunNat recently held their launch announcing their new status as RunNat Global Bhd and their new and improved website.
They have a network of runners to encourage a lifestyle of giving to in the respective communities. They’ve definitely grown tremendously to even encourage Christian youths to pray for our nation and unite all in the faith across denominational line.
The Christian ministry that champion’s prayer as the key to unlocking God’s will for our nation have been blessing families and communities who are desperately poor since they began a number of years ago.
Previously when they were not an organization they had to go through a bank trustee, Malaysian Care, and the participating Churches before the money could reach the intended beneficiaries. Now with this vehicle they can proudly send out donations to the beneficiaries in the quickest possible time!
Guests that started coming in for the launch included leaders of Churches, RunNat leaders throughout the different parts of the world, pastors, other NGO’s and more. As they came, each received their door gifts while mocktails were served to kick start the evening. Once everyone arrived, the organizing committee began their praise and worship before guests could finally sit down and enjoy their delicious meals. Everyone enjoyed themselves in fellowship thoroughly throughout the evening.
The Chairman and founder of RunNat, Victor Chua then came up to give his speech, where he thanked everyone for their continuous support. “This day is a mere reflection of the partnerships and friendships shared with so many of you forged over the last five years. Many a time we are not aware of the impact, kind words and gestures have on the scheme of things.
It’s a combination of things that allows us to be where we are now and we are so blessed” shared Victor.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give
– Winston Churchill
The ambassador of RunNat, Daniel Lee also came up to share about their G.R.A.C.E (Greater Run And Community Engagement) project. With that the S.O.R (Sponsor Our Run) campaign is no more and is replaced with the G.R.A.C.E project. Adopting a family and raising funds for them hasn’t been easier. This project is to further engage the community and provide a platform for more passionate youths to be exposed and directly involved with community projects. “We’ve seen the poverty that plagues the people and the challenges they face and realised that we can’t just run, pray and believe, but we must be the answers to prayers as well” shared Daniel. Last year they managed to raise about RM73,000 for the poor.
“The greatest need in the world today is encouragement.. and Jesus” shared Organizing Chairman, Thomas Joseph. He talked about the Joshua generation and the importance of gearing up young people in prayer and to perform good works. He added, “If you have the right heart to serve God, God will bring you further than you could ever go.”
Many others came up to share that evening including the Directors and the Organizing Committee. They each shared about their works in RunNat and encouraged all in the room. When the evening came close to an end, the pastors of FGA (Full Gospel Assembly) came up to close in prayer and bless everyone. Many left encouraged to perform bigger and better works for the Lord.
This year RunNat hopes that many more runners will join in! As RunNat Day 2013 will be held this October. It will also be held in Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, the United States, Nepal and Pakistan.
