Brother Martin sits with the musicians as the Sunday School worship leader leads the children to a dance around the room. A familiar and friendly face you see at church events, Martin never fails to greet you with his smile. Martin Kong Ngian Choi has been with the Children Ministry for about five to six years.

“I find it okay. I’m still learning from the teachers, hoping one day I can teach the children,” he said. He helps the teachers once a month, sometimes, “I come to listen to the songs”.

He serves the ministry as a helper, assisting the teachers with the children, taking attendance and such. He would attend to the 4-6 year old “Joseph” class. “Usually with Brother Billy’s class,” he smiles.

“My favorite verse from the Bible is John 3:16,” he said. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life,” he added. In his free time, he likes to read motivational books and visits the book shops. The hard working young man normally comes to the church prayer meetings on Wednesdays with his aunt.

“I also help with the Sunday school with other things. Every first week of the month, I’d help out with the refreshments,” he added. He admits that he looks forward to the children camp, where he often takes care of the children.

As the children proceeded to their respective classes, Martin stops for a while and hangs out with the musicians. The shy young man hesitated to have his photo taken at first, but with the help of his friends, he agreed. The church is blessed to have a great helper and servant of God, just like Martin.
