God gives grace to the humble but despises the proud (1 Peter 5:5)
Covering up your sin may hide it from others but not from God (Gen.3:8)
“Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden…” (Gen 3:7-13)
So God said, “Adam.. Where are you?” It wasn’t because God had no idea where he was.. It was because God wanted Adam to know that he was out of order in His kingdom…And because his guilt has caused him to run, hide and cover up with fig leaves, it’s now going to be hard for Adam to come out…
You know what? When you fall in sin it’s a matter of time before God will expose your cover-up so that He can bring you back into the place that you need to be in order that God can work out His character in you.
But instead of coming clean, Adam did what we all will normally do. He began to be defensive; he blamed others for his mistake. Adam said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” He blamed the woman. He blamed God.
“And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate…”
Eve started it no doubt but Adam was standing there when God said not to eat of that fruit. He made a personal choice to disobey.
The Bible says in Galatians 6:7-8: “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
When you get caught in the hype of the world you’re destined to be set up by the devil and lured into all kinds of sin. And as a result you will try to hide what you’ve done. But the day and time will surely come when whatever you have done in the dark will have to come out in the light. King David was a good example as to how God exposed him when he committed sin in his life by taking another man’s wife.
Sin corrupts and scars us by a chain reaction. It disintegrates every area of our life, often resulting in fear, sickness, poverty, depression, and ultimately ending up in a short life. It’s very sad that throughout history humans always want to learn their lessons through hurtful and painful experience.
Prov. 28:13 – “He who confesses and forsakes his transgressions will find compassion.”
PAST SINS, PAST FAILURES IF IT’S NOT DEALT WITH SERIOUSLY WILL KEEP YOU DEFEATED IN YOUR FUTURE
Some of us are crippled and stagnant today, because we have not dealt with our past failures, hurts and sins that have inflicted us. We have swept it under the carpet and we have allowed it to rest there.
The devil comes to steal destroy and finally kill you (John 10:10). The fact of the matter is, you have so much potential God has given you but unfortunately it is buried within and you are unable to tap into them because the devil has crippled you.
Do you know, your ignorance is the enemy’s power over you! The enemy fights you so hard because he wants this seed of blessing that you carry within you? Always be reminded, “the degree of the battle you face is an indication of the destiny you carry.”
For the Bible says in Romans 5:8-10:
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”
When we find ourselves at the crossroads of our life, we have a tendency to feel dejected, condemned and abandoned. And the reason being we reduce God to our level of understanding and we try to measure God in our own terms.
But you know what? Yet the opposite is true, God loves you just as you are and His concern for you never changes despite your circumstances. Despite your weakness and sins and even when our visions and thinking gets blurred and foggy. Even when we are unable to see Him clearly. Even when you are losing your mind. He is there for you.
“God is a very present help in trouble” (Psalm. 46:1)
The amazing thing about God is that when you and I are prepared to humble ourselves and acknowledge our sins before Him, He is faithful and just to forgive.
“When we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)
HE WILL START THE PROCESS OF RESTORATION
When you are humble and transparent before God, irrespective of your mistakes and weaknesses, God will always send you the right person at the right time with the right spirit. People who have been there, people who have walked the path! People who know your pain. God will bring such people into your life to help restore you back on your feet. God will give such people as a gift to you. You need to grab this opportunity while you can and never let it slip away.
Despite the devil’s agenda to wipe you out, the very fact that you are still sailing through this stormy seas obviously proves that God is not through with you yet. Start looking ahead there is something coming up on God’s agenda and it has got your name on it. Stop looking at your situation negatively because negativity is a very contagious spirit and God cannot partner with you as long as you dwell there. What is ahead of you is far greater than what you are seeing right now before you.
There is something good just over the horizon, something good for your life because God has called you with an eternal purpose.
