18 April 2013 by Mindy Oon CM –

Revo Academy and Revo P.A.R.T.Y was held on the 9th and 10th of April 2013 in Kampar, Perak. With University Tunku Abdul Rahman and Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman in Kampar, it was an opportunity to bring the love of God to the students in this town. About 250 students turned up for Revo, and as the Revo Team from Acts Church shared their stories and testimonies, many lives were touched and commitments made for Christ.

Revolution, or Revo, for short, is a movement that birthed through the Holy Spirit to inspire the young people to make a difference in the places they are in. Many of us aim to impact but long lasting change happens only when God is in the picture. People not only need to know about God, but each person needs to experience His love.

Romans 13:8 says “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law”.

Through Revo, many young people have been inspired to make a difference by demonstrating the love of God to their friends, family and colleagues.

Many times we love the idea of making the world a better place, but when it comes to actually doing so, we are stumped, not knowing where to start or what to do. Revo suggests three simple steps to bring change – Pray, Listen, and Obey.

Prayer is the first step to implementing lasting change. By praying and asking God for His direction, we are inviting Him into the situation. The second step is to Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit for God’s ideas and directions that will bring change to our schools, campuses, workplaces and communities. And lastly, there is no point in praying and listening if we do not Obey. When we obey we become God’s agents of change.

This year the Revo Conference, better known as Re:Union will be held on the 30 May to 31 May 2013 in Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre and 1 June 2013 at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam. With speakers including Rev Kenneth Chin and his wife Pas Sandra Chin from Acts Church, Pastor Sam Surendran (EPCC, Penang), Pastor Palan Ramasamy (RGBC, Penang), Pastor Steve Morrison from History Makers Church, Victoria, and Pastor Matt Fielder from Kingdom City Church, KL.

Re:Union will touch on topics such as excellence in church, leadership and business as missions. With recess revo, campus revo and revo @work, Re:Union caters to a large age group encouraging all to make a difference in the places they are in by demonstrating the love of God.

So far, the Revo moment has reached more than 300 schools, 80 colleges and universities, 30 workplaces, and it is still growing. The three simple steps of ‘pray, listen and obey’ have brought fourth hundreds of testimonies.
