Pastor Phua Seng Tiong preached on this day and touched on how through Jesus all things are possible, and about trusting God even in the midst of the attack of the enemy, saying that, God has asked us to arise in order to make a difference, because God made the difference for us.

In his sermon he stated that he was privileged enough to meet some people in a prison located in Sungai Buloh. They were three guys on the verge of death row. Of these particular three guys, one has committed murder, while the other two have smuggled drugs before and every single day, they are waiting to be hanged. During that period of time however, Pastor Phua spent some time with them and had fellowship with these three men. One day, one of them shared with the Pastor about his life previously and how before this he just feared the police, but now however despite being here on deathrow he told the pastor he does not fear a thing. This particular man added that, the difference is, “I fear God, he has given me wisdom, I fear God, he has given me understanding, I fear God he has humbled me.” The favourite verse in Bible of this inmate is found in Philippians 1:21 which says, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain”. He says, “I get a chance now to live for Jesus, when last time I used to live for my own lust, for my own greed.”

This inmate who killed his friend, told the pastor that, “When I believe in Jesus something happened to me, despite knowing that I am going to get hanged.” He says, “I have hope”. Pastor Phua added, “As a church in this nation when we fear God with all our heart and soul, it will make a difference in society. The instructions of the commandments are to guide us in our lives, in order to walk in all his ways.” In John 10:27 it says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” When you come to know Jesus, you will know His voice, and we will be able to hear him, and that He will be able to guide us eastjump. When we are caught in a dead end, He will guide us. According to Psalm 32:8 the scripture says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

He says that in modern day terms, God is our “GPS” for our lives. We need to intentionally walk and intentionally fear the Lord. Who would you honour if not and if you don’t trust or know He is the one who will grant you wisdom then there is no respect for the Lord. How do you follow him when you do not know His word..

Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” In summary, when you obey the 10 commandments, we are saying that we love God and it has to do with something relational.
