There’s a lot to be excited about as KingdomCity, Kuala Lumpur officially opened up three services every Sunday. Their service times are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and at 4 p.m., extended to accommodate the ever-growing Church. I personally like the joyous and friendly vibe there.
At the very core of it, they are most passionate about seeing the world we live in being ‘culturalised’ by God’s world, regardless of personal culture. One will be able to see a very diverse crowd of people with different age groups ranging from children and youths to adults and older men, coming together to worship God. Many speakers from Australia are invited to this Church to preach and share their stories. This Christmas, the décors were up, and all the ushers wore Santa hats, excited for the season!
This past Sunday, Pastor Matt Fielder came all the way from Australia to preach at all three services. Hailing from Melbourne, Matt together and his wife Lisa used to oversee the University Ministry of the Planet Shakers. Currently, they are the Lead Pastors of KingdomCity K.L. Today, he started off with reading from Romans 8: 22 – 30.
“I love the book of Romans because it is probably the most doctrinal book in the New Testament. Paul is the original James Bond as his journey is like Jesus, filled with ups and downs. The great thing about Paul is that the higher he got with God, the lower he felt”, said Matt. To get closer to God is to get down. To be the greatest of all is to serve.
God Supplies all our Needs
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
On the inside, we have something that allows us to live forever but at the same time we have an expiry date on our bodies. “God wants you to walk in Hope! Because Faith is the evidence of things hoped for. So what is it that you hope for? What do you hope for before you go to bed?”, he said. The greatest illustration of hope here is Christmas. During Christmas time, you hint and hope for a particular present, even ransacking the house to see if your parents have gotten those presents for you. However, once you’ve found it, you realize that it robs a part of the joy and hope. Even though it’s still exciting, the element of joy is gone! Hope that is seen is no hope at all; the Bible talks about having hope in the invisible and trusting in God to supply all your needs.
“Adam never once complained to God that he needs a woman. Never once did Adam complain that he’s alone. The Bible says that God looked down and said that it is not good for man to be alone, let us make a suitable help mate,” said Matt. A lot of us are not going to find what we are looking for because we keep on searching with our own might rather than going to God. If you stop searching and start trusting in God, you will be amazed at what God can do. This can be applied to everything, even regarding financial matters.
Help is here for you!
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
The Holy Spirit wants to help you. “You start with the hope that God doesn’t leave you there and that He gives you help in your hope” said Matt. He then talks about how the Holy Spirit intercedes for us through wordless groans. These groans refer to the gift of tongues, that when we speak in tongues, we speak mysteries to man but clear words to God.
1 Corinthians 14: 2 says, “2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
In other words, God's ears are tuned in to that language. “It is your first language, because you are speaking in the Spirit which is eternal, unlike your body that have an expiry date. Try to speak in tongues more than your natural language and see how God begins to stir you!” said Matt.
The Revelation
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[b] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified;those he justified, he also glorified.
We know that we must learn through instructions in the Bible that educate us. The fact is that God works for the good of those who love Him. Do not blame God when things aren’t going well. You must be 100% committed to Him. Some people's love for God is conditional; they stop loving God when things don’t work out for them. It doesn’t work that way. Jesus never promised you a storm-free life but He promises you storm-proof! We need to continually rise to trust God. Our God is able to deliver us but even if He doesn’t, don’t pull back your trust in Him! God wants to provide a way through, not just a way of escape but an opportunity to learn in going through an issue lest it should manifest again.
Pastor Matt then ended his sermon by saying that, “God never start anything unless he hasn’t already finished it. You might feel like you’re in hopelessness but that is not the truth. There’s always hope in knowing that all things work together for the good of those who love Him.”

I think Matthew Fielder is a great preacher. I’ve listened to him at Life City Church. He was preaching about freaking out in his car. He was trying to find a petrol station whilst he was in his car with his wife. His situation intensified because of his circumstances at the time. He sought God in prayer and God helped him. God sorted him out and got him to his destination. He looks young and he takes care of his health very well, but he isn’t thirty three years of age anymore!
