Does the name sound familiar? For those who are wondering who Gurmit Singh is, he is best known for his role as Phua Chu Kang (a Chinese Ah Beng) in the popular comedy sitcom that gained popularity in Singapore and other neighboring countries, such as Malaysia. The Singaporean actor and comedy performer has loads of experience under his belt in the film industry and continues to work hard to entertain and provide for his family until this very day. Gurmit is a family man to the core as he always reserves his Sundays for family, church and charity. He is married to housewife Melissa Wong, 36. They have two children – daughter Gabrielle, eight, and son Elliot, four.
One might ask, so who is the man behind Gurmit? The man behind him, behind his success, behind his very being, and the one who made him where he is today is none other than Jesus Christ. Gurmit recently graced SMCC (SunwayMas Community Center) and shared at the special event with the crowd right after the service. Before he came out, musicians performed and everyone was entertained by the emcees as they called volunteers from the audience to play a game. There was a lot of laughter in the room and many happy faces could be seen but, it was only when Gurmit himself came up on stage that everyone’s faces really lit up. More than a thousand people came to listen to him speak that day.
His Walk with God
As he entered, he told a few jokes that made everyone burst into laughter and sang his favourite song titled “Better Man” by Robbie Williams. After that, Gurmit revealed the substantial side of him. He began to share a story of when he was a younger and about 19 years old. “I want to share a different side of me that you probably haven’t seen at all and that’s the serious side; not serious in a sad or angry way but serious in a sad, but also happy way,” he said.
He became a Christian in the year 1985, he shared unfolding a story, which involved his mother. “My mother to me is the strongest in the whole world, you may think that your mother is strong but my mother is stronger! Growing up, I came from a very poor family. It was my father, mother, me and three younger sisters. We were so poor that I would sleep on the floor; we were so poor that our shoes were worn until it couldn’t be worn anymore. My school shorts would get tighter and tighter every year,” he shared.
In terms of their family’s survival, his father has two jobs, he worked as a watchman at a bank during the day and at another bank during the night. “He was working 24 hours,” shared Gurmit. Simultaneously, his mother would work at a hawker center to pitch in to the family fund. “By the time she came back home, it would be 12 midnight. I don’t know about you but for me if I come home at midnight after a hard day’s work needing to rest but my mother would do several house chores after coming home. Moreover, she would even cook for the family for the next day. To me, this was unbelievable strength” he shared. Gurmit was amazed that his mother hardly fell sick, even when she did, it would be during her day off. “I think she was one of those people who needed to work to not fall sick, when there was no work, aiyah! Fall sick” he jokingly said. Even when she was sick she would take Panadol; it was her cure for everything.
One day, according to Gurmit, she came back home with a stomach pain and took Panadol but it didn’t make her feel any better and so she went to a stomach specialist to see what the problem was. “They did the blood test and x-rays and I was there with my mom when they gave her the results, we found out that she had a stage four cancer of the stomach,” he shared. Stage four was the last stage of cancer, which in medical terms meant that she didn’t really have a fighting chance. The doctor even went further to say that, “Your mother will die in six months,” said Gurmit. Imagine his dismay when the doctor broke that news to him, he was furious, and was appalled at the fact that the doctor would say such a thing! “She is the strongest woman in the world, how can you say that?” he thought to himself.
Moving forward, his mother went for radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She had to go through the side effects of losing all her hair and even had ulcers in her mouth; she was in a lot of pain. “She got weaker and weaker until she became bed ridden. She tried Chinese sensei, bomoh, and every other medicine she could find but nothing worked. It was very painful for me to see,” he shared. By this time, Gurmit was also angry at his sisters who had become Christians through a Bible study that they took up in school, he was angry because he knew it would upset his father who didn’t like Christianity. He even scolded his sisters and said, “So you think this Jesus Christ is so powerful? Ask Him to come here now! I’m not scared of this Jesus Christ. Son of God? Please lah!” Gurmit admits that he used to be a very angry boy. “Of course my sisters didn’t do anything about it, but what they did next was very brave because they went to my mother and said, “Can we invite a pastor to pray for you?” he shared.
At that point, his mother agreed with his sisters because his mother had nothing to lose. And so, when the pastor came to visit his mother, he was very grounded and immediately told the mother that there is a difference between Jesus Christ and Santa Claus. The difference is with Jesus, there is no list, one only needs to surrender to Him and allow Him to take care of it because He knows what’s best for you and He will do the best for you. After listening to the pastor, his mother said the sinner’s prayer and became a Christian. “The next thing that happened was my sisters came to me and did another brave thing,” he said. They were brave enough to invite Gurmit to an evangelical event in the national stadium. “For some strange reason, instead of hating them and throwing things at them which I usually do, I found myself saying ‘Okay, let’s go’”
There he heard a powerful and eloquent message, even witnessing miracles. “People who were paralyzed stood up and moved around but most of all I heard a voice and that voice said, “Would you like to be my child?” So I knelt down, I said the sinners prayer and I became a Christian,” he shared. When he read the Bible one day, he stumbled upon Matthew 7:7 that cited, “”Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”. Upon seeing that verse it was as if he had a light bulb moment. Gurmit then immediately went to a corner, went down on his knees and prayed to God. Gurmit reminded of the promise He made in that verse and asked him if He wouldn’t mind, if He could let his mother live a little bit longer. “…because I know that she is waiting for me to settle down and continue the name of the family since I am the only son and the eldest. My mother loves babies,” he said to God.
Although he was a fairly new Christian at that time and didn’t really know how to pray, he spoke from his heart. “Subsequently, my mother had to go back to the clinic to do more x-rays to find out how much more the disease was spreading. At that time, the doctor sat them down and said to them, “I do not know what you are doing but whatever you are doing please continue to do so because the cancer is gone! I’m sorry I cannot explain but we call this a miracle.” And so Gurmit’s mother who was supposed to die in six months’ time, lived up to sixteen years!
In sixteen years’ time however, she had the same problem, I was very angry and asked God about what happened. “I thought it was supposed to be gone. Why is it back?… and then He reminded me about sixteen years ago when I said to him, that when there are grandchildren around that He could take her,” he shared. By this time, he was already married with a daughter and a son on the way. It was time for Gurmit to let her go. Gurmit explained that this time in the hospital, his mother was breathing differently and due to that, the doctor gave him a professional opinion stating that she might only be able to last for another week. The whole family then gathered together including his father; they surrounded her to say their goodbyes. “We all thanked her for being such a good mother, such a hardworking mother. We had so little and she tried to give us as much as she could, her time, her blood, and sweat,” recalled Gurmit, overwhelmed with emotion. When it was his father’s turn to say goodbye, it was the first time that he ever heard his father say, “I love you” to his mother. After his father kissed her, she took her final breath and passed away.
“When I tell this story I am sad because I miss her of course but in my heart I know she’s in heaven because she gave her life to Jesus Christ and when I die, I will be there with her. Two years after my mother died, my father passed also but one month before he passed away, He became a Christian!” shared Gurmit with joy.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29)
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39)

What is the sinner's prayer, please?
Sinner's prayer is when you confess all your sins to God, ask for His forgiveness, and invite Jesus into your life as your personal savior, as one and only God, and your Heavenly Father.
It is a prayer made by people who want to surrender themselves and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour. Visit your local church, they would be more than glad to guide you along. 🙂
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name.
Amen
Hi fren,
The Sinner prayer is as below:
http://www.salvationprayer.info/prayer.html
In His Love
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen.
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen. ”
It involves saying sorry for your sins and repenting, thanking Jesus for dying on the cross for your sins, and inviting Him into your heart 🙂
But first you must know that 1) Heaven is a gift. It is not earned or deserved. 2) Man is a sinner and cannot save himself (Romans 3:23 – "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" 3) God is merciful and therefore does not want to punish us but God is just and therefore must punish sin 4) Who is Jesus Christ? Well, He is the infinite GOD-MAN. "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus).. and the Word (Jesus) was God .. and the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us.. (John 1:1,14) He (Jesus) died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose from the grave to purchase a price for us in heaven. This gift is received by FAITH which is the Key that opens the door to heaven. It is simply trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It means resting upon CHRIST ALONE and what HE HAS DONE rather than in what you or I have done to get us into heaven. To receive Him, then call on Him in this prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. But, I beleive You died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in heaven for me. Lord Jesus, come into my life; take control of my life; forgive my sins and save me. I repent of my sins and now place my trust in You for my salvation. Ia ccept the free gift of Eternal life." In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
God bless you.
There is no standard sinner's prayer but a comprehensive one is below.
It is important to follow through your prayer by looking for a local church where brothers & sisters in Christ can guide you in your walk with Jesus.

Hi James,
The sinner's prayer is a prayer to confess our sins and to invite Jesus Christ into our lives as our personal Lord and saviour.
There are several variations to it, but it's actually a short prayer with its main points consisting of "sorry, thank you, and please"- "sorry" to God for the things we have done against Him, "thank you" for how Jesus died for us so that we can be forgiven, and "please" to invite Jesus into our lives.
Here is how one can pray the sinner's prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong in my life.
(Take a moment to ask forgiveness for anything in particular that is on your conscience.)
Please forgive me. I now turn away from everything that I know is wrong.Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins so that I can be forgiven and set free.
I now receive that gift of forgiveness that you offer and receive You as Lord and Saviour of my life.
Please take control of my life, fill me with the Holy Spirit and make me the person you want me to be.
Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life
Thank You, Lord Jesus. Amen.
Dear James,
If you would like to say the "Sinner's Prayer", there's no formula or set prayer, but it is what you say to God when you want to tell Him that you believe in Him and that you want to live for Him. If that is what you want, then you can use this prayer if you'd like:
——————
Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.
Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

God bless you!
"Almighty God, i confess that i am a sinner, and have fallen short of Your glory. I know that i deserve to die for my sins and i have no way to save myself. But i thank You that You sent Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to die in our place. I believe that You have accepted His sacrifice and raised Him from the dead for our justification. I accept Him as my Lord and Saviour. Amen"
(The above is one example, not a magic formula to salvation. Romans 10 says, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.")
James, the sinner's prayer is a prayer of repentence. it is said by an individual who repents of his sins and eants to enter into a personal and intimate relationship with God.
Go to a church they can help and teach you what to say. but mostly it is telling God you are sorry for your sins and you accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and you want to have a relationship with Him as His child.
Now that it is almost Christmas and even on Christmas and Christmas eve church services, more often than not the Church will have 'alter calls' or an invitation to those in the congregation whoever wants to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. They will guide you through it. Take the step of faith Brother James 😀
It is a prayer of repentance and there are many versions, but the gist is generally as below:
Hi! You can take a look at this link regarding the sinner's prayer! http://www.gotquestions.org/sinners-prayer.html 🙂 God Bless!!
This is the sinner's prayer. The sinner's prayer serves as a guideline as there are many other ways to pray….

Main gist of the sinner's prayer:
Dear Jesus
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I am sorry and please forgive me. I now accept you as my Lord and savior in my life. Thank you Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
may you be blessed with the marvelous gift of knowing Jesus.
The prayer that accepts your sinfulness, and Jesus' power of covering that sin and making you righteous, accepting His love and grace.
The sinner's prayer is not so much about the words, but more of an outward expression of your heart's desire to start having a relationship with God.
A suggested prayer would be "Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins. I surrender my life to You, make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen."
Hi. you might want to check out the application John 3:16 through your phone. you can learn more about christianity and the sinner's prayer through the app. I'm sure the sinner's prayer is right at the back of the script
Sinner's prayer is first to acknowledge that all man sin (do wrong things) and fall short of the glory of God. The result of sin is separation from God. Only God can reach out to us to reconcile us back to Himself. He does so by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ to be born as an infant and in adulthood teach us God's ways and ultimately dying on the cross, in the process paying for the penalty of our sins paving the way of reconciliation with God. So sinners prayer is A,B,C. ADMIT we are sinners. BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. CONFESS our sins (all wrong and unrighteous acts) asking for God to forgive our sins and be the LORD of our lives. Anyone who wish to, can pray (talk to God) using this 3 simple but life-transforming points.
The sinner's prayer is to :
Admit to God that you are a sinner
Believe that Jesus is the son of God and came to die for the sins of the world
Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior over your life.
It is more than just going through a prayer. However those are the basic principles of a sinner's prayer. And if there is that ggenuine confession, then welcome to the Family of God 🙂
The sinner's prayer is simply a declaration to God that we are sinner's and are unworthy of His Grace, that we believe that Jesus Christ has sacrifice to atone for our wrong doings. God's love and forgiveness requires nothing from us. Only that we believe in the Him, His love for us and His sovereign power to forgive us of our sin.
Hi James, the sinner's prayer goes like this:
Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner, in my thoughts and actions. I believe that You have sent Jesus to save me, by dying on the cross to repay all my sins. Therefore I receive the gift of salvation and confess that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour. I am now saved and I am now a child of God. Thank you Father for this precious gift. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
well, prayer is basically talking with God. so the sinner's prayer is where a person admits that he/she has said/done/thought wrong things, and basically lived in an attitude of rebellion against God. but the person who prays this prayer has come to a realisation that they are enemies of God because of their sin, and would like to change that. and the wonderful things is, God has made a way for this to happen through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.
so the prayer professes belief in Jesus and acceptance of what He has done for them by dying on the cross (that is, he paid the penalty for their sin). in doing so, they accept Jesus as their Saviour. the prayer then makes a commitment to turn away from their previous way of life and live God's way instead, with his help of course. in doing so, they accept Jesus as their Lord.
sorry for such a long comment but it's actually quite complicated and there are a lot of background concepts that a person needs to understand before the sinner's prayer makes any sense. hope that my reply has helped and feel free to ask more questions if you want to. =)

"Dear Jesus,
I am a sinner.
I repent of my sins.
Please forgive me and save me by your shed blood;
come into my heart.
I want to receive you as my own personal Lord and savior.
Amen"
But what you really need is still go to a church after this prayer…. The prayer is just a moment, but it is a moment that sparks off a process.
Dear Heavenly Father
I confess that i am a sinner and i cannot save myself.
I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that you send Him to die on the cross to pay for my sins and He truly resurrected on the third day now sitting on the right hand of God.
Dear Lord Jesus Christ. I now open my heart and invite you to come into my heart and accept you as my Saviour and Lord. Holy Spirit. Come and dwell in me now to help me to live a victorious life for Christ.
In Jesus’ name i pray. Amen.
” If you have prayed out this prayer audibly and sincerely believed in your heart then you are safe and saved. ” Congratulations !
The sinner's prayer is one where you acknowledges God as your savior and that you are a sinner and only deserve to live because God sent His one and only begotten son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us. You also believe that Jesus was risen from the dead three days later and you would invite Him into your life as your personal savior.
Hi James,
The sinner's prayer, goes something like this:
Father in Heaven, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I thank You that by Your grace and love for me You sent Your Son to pay the price for my sins. I believe Jesus Christ is the Lord who died for my sins and was raised to life. Lord, today I invite You to be the Lord of my life. I pray all these, in Jesus' name. Amen.
May I also suggest that you go to a church or a cell group as well, if you have made the decision in your heart to follow Jesus? If you don't know which church to go to, you are most welcome to drop me an email (shibuff.tan@gmail.com)! My friends and I would be most excited to start you off on this exciting journey. Shall end off on this verse:
"Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart." – Hebrews 3:15
Warmest regards,
Shi Wei
Hi James, sinner's prayer is a prayer where you wanted to surrender your life into God's hand, acknowledging God (Jesus Christ) as your God and your personal saviour. Hope that helps you. If you need further clarifications, do let me know =)
James- the sinner's prayer is basically saying sorry, thank you and please.
Sorry – for all the wrong things I have done
Thank You (Jesus) – for dying on the cross for my sins and washing me clean.
Please – come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour.
We need Jesus because He is the only one who can settle our problem of sin. We need to face the judgement one day cause we are all sinners. But the good news came: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)" Jesus had bare the judgement of sin on the cross for us, for those who repent and willing to surrender his life to Jesus, he is saved and have an eternal life. So the sinner prayer is the prayer to God that you repent from your sincere heart. Christmas is just around the corner, feel free to find a church near your house and know more about this good news and know more about the differences between the Santa Claus and Jesus Christ! – See more at: http://christianitymalaysia.com/wp/man-gurmit-singh/#sthash.3TN25uj6.dpuf
Simple sinners prayer: "Lord Jesus, thank You for dying on the Cross for me and for my sins, thank You for washing and cleansing me with Your Blood. I repent and renounce for my sins and I open my heart and invite You to be my personal Lord and Saviour. I am a child of God now. Thank You in Jesus name. Amen."
I couldn't find the sinner's prayer anywhere in the Bible. Instead, I found verses such as Acts 2:38 "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..", Mark 16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." and Gal 3:27 "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."
Hi James,
The sinner's prayer is basically a prayer which we can say to invite Jesus Christ into our lives as our Lord and Saviour upon seeing our need for a saviour pertaining to our sins. An example of the sinner's prayer is below:
"Lord Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross for the remuneration of my sins- past, present and future. I would like to open the door of my heart and receive You into my life as my Lord and Saviour. Thanks for coming into my life as what You have promised in Your Word. Continue to lead me and guide me all the days of my life. In Jesus Name, amen."
sinner's prayer is when u accept Jesus Christ into your life, to accept Him as your personal Savior. Simply talk to Jesus to ask Him to forgive all your sins (bad doing) in the past. Most of all BELIEVE in Jesus in whatever you are doing. End your prayers with Jesus's name AMEN
Hi James, the sinner's prayer is a prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ where the person acknowledges that he is a sinner and that he cannot do anything to save himself from his sins. In the prayer, the person confesses that he believes that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for the penalty of his sins and receives Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour. The Bible also tells us that Jesus rose from the dead and is a victorious living Saviour! Just to share a few details from the Bible:
"For it is by grace (God's unmerited favour) that you have been saved, through faith (trusting on what Christ did on the cross) – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works (not from our good works or any self-merit), so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus says: "I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life. No ones comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6).
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16).
By the way, this is also what Christmas actually means – it is about God's love towards us through the gift of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
May God bless you!
Hi James, a sinner's prayer is a communication to God to acknowledge your sins what you have done in the past and would like to submit yourself to God and let Jesus to take away your sins in behalf. At the same time to allow Jesus to come into your life and accept him as your personal saviour. Below is a link that has a sample of how to pray the sinner's prayer or salvation prayer. For more information find the nearest church around you and let them know your interest and also a copy of the Bible. God bless you and Jesus loves you.

The sinner's prayer:
Dear lord,
I admit that i am a sinner and thank you for dying on the cross for me, bearing the sin that i have made and are going to make. I invite you into my life, come and be my lord, my saviour and my best friend. I want to live life with you and allow you to teach me how to walk close with you. Thank you jesus for unfaiiling love, in jesus name i pray, amen.
Hey James,
The sinner's prayer is actually any kind of prayer acknowledging our sinful nature, declaring that you believe in the Lord Jesus and inviting Him to come into your life and change you and make you better. It's not some kind of magic prayer, but rather a simple declaration of your faith and it is the stepping stone for a lifetime of experiences and joy with Jesus.
An example could be what Billy Graham (a powerful evangelist) used which is 'Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I'm a sinner and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as my Lord and Saviour. In Your name, Amen.'
Hopefully this helps (: God loves you!
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name.
Amen.
The sinner's prayer is a prayer to God, admitting that you are a sinner, acknowledging that Jesus had died for your sins and that you need God in your life. It is also a prayer that asks for Him to forgive you of your sins and also for Jesus to be the God and Saviour of your life.
Sinner's Prayer is prayed to accept Lord Jesus Christ into your life.
——–
Amen.
hi james, there are many ways to put it, but here is an example:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me. I confess that You are God and that I am a sinner. I believe that You sent Your son Jesus Christ to come and die on the cross for my sins. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my heart and change me from this day onward.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
sinner's prayer — "Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross for my sins. I confess I am a sinner. I receive You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for forgiving my sins. I surrender to You my life. Help me to live for You and Your glory. Amen." (this is the main idea, the words may vary, but the purpose is the same — surrendering our life to Jesus because He loves you and is your Saviour)
I humbly submit this remark according to my understanding of the Bible: there is no 'sinner's prayer' found nor defined in the Bible by which any one who says it can be saved. Instead, the Bible clearly says that 'Believe in Jesus Christ and you shall be saved'; read the Gospel of John.
Dear Bro/Sis,

Sinner’s prayer ” Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name.Amen.”
There is no reasonable basis that Gurmit's mother lived due to prayer or religion (not that it was not a good thing). A doctor's input to how long the patient afflicted with cancer is only a conjecture at best from past experiences and mortality of cancer patients who are terminal.
Millions of people pray for their kin to survive past something. Most don't make it. Gurmit's mother was just one of the statistical few that do survive (she was a strong woman who had a strong will to live) and thus, we cannot automatically be led to believe that correleation (the prayer) is causation (survival).
Sinner’s prayer: .Dear Jesus, thank You for saving me through Your finished work on the cross. Because of Your love for me I am saved today, Heaven is my home , God is my Father. I am highly favored, deeply loved and greatly blessed.
hi James
the sinner’s prayer is a prayer said to God where you confess your sins and want to acd believe Jesus as your Lord. you can easily find it by googling. God bless
James,
We need Jesus because He is the only one who can settle our problem of sin. 🙂
THANK YOU GOD for giving laughter to us tru Mr Gurmit AMEN

this is a link to a version of the sinner's prayer.
Thank u very much Gurmit for opening your soul to us. To hear a celebrity embracing god and loving him is inspirational . We all have our quiet walk with god. Only he touches is. God pleases and god disposes. It was Christmas Day that god send his beloved son to be with us and die for our sins. Haleluya . God is great and let his spirit forever lives in us. Merry Cristmas everyone.

You said gurmit singh became a christian in 1985. But i don’t think he is a born again christian. How do you know wether one is a christian or not, through his fruit. If gurmit singh is really a christian he would never be an actor love by the world. He would have been following and serving Jesus. To me he is not serving Jesus but the world and it’s entertainment. So please discern rightfully before you label a person a christian.
Renci,
You said “label” as if you are judging someone. Please stop doing that..you do not have the rights to “label” that person because you are not God. We as brothers and sisters in Christ should not judge each other by their career or even by their own personal lifestyles.
Renci – it is not for you to judge the truth of anyone’s claims to be a Christian. You demand to see “fruit” – well how about a testimony read by thousands that would be ignored were it not for his celebrity status. It may be hard to live life as a Christian when under the spotlight, but you certainly cannot dismiss his faith just because he is an actor.
In response to the discussion about the so-called “Sinners Prayer”, while there are many versions here, many of them are long, difficult to remember and betray a particular theology to belief about salvation.
They all lack the beauty of the original “Jesus Prayer” which dates back to at least the 5th century and is still widely used today, especially in the orthodox churches –
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner.”
