The event themed “A Day of 12 hour Praise and Worship” will be happening on the 17th of September 2012 at the Global Business and Convention Centre, Petaling Jaya. Admission is free and it will be held from 9.00a.m. to 9.00p.m.This particular event is organized by Sister Shamini Ruth from the River of Christ Church, Kota Damansara, together with a committee that consists of a representative of each Church that will be participating. The venue itself can accommodate up to 500 people, and sees a total of 9 Churches including Oops! Asia (Ministry) coming together to participate in this 12 hour long continuous praise and worship. It will also be the very first time that they will be having worship through art where talented people come and worship God through art by expression of painting , drawing and dance .
When asked about how she feels about the event, sister Shamini says, “It’s something that’s been in my heart for a long time, and we’ve been doing it for the past 5 years. I really felt this time that we need to go out and do it in a neutral place in order to really break the barriers.” The biggest challenge she says, is the fact that it was difficult to get a Mandarin or Cantonese team. “It was almost like warfare”, she says, because she had to call so many churches. In the end, she managed to get a mandarin worship team from Faith Christian Centre in Bandar Sunway.
Diversity is the key for Shamini and the committee this year . The event sees all three languages namely, Mandarin, Tamil and Bahasa Malaysia that will be included with English this time.jumping castle
“We really felt that the three languages should come in because that’s how diversified worship is in heaven”, says Shamini. Having been through 7 hours praise and worship before, she says that after the event “I feel more connected, very refreshed and just a sense of belonging. That is where we’re meant to be.”
Pastor Monica, the Senior Pastor of River of Christ Church made a statement saying, “It is not a concert, not something to do with showmanship and it definitely has nothing to do with how skilled worship bands are. We are looking at some deep worship that can affect the realm of the spirit over our nation. It will take this kind of worship to do this because usually worship especially during church on Sundays is very short.” Pastor added that, “So many other churches are also engaged in praying for our nation and whatever small way we do it, there is a change in the spiritual realm. Every time we do it again it adds the change to our nation.”

After the 7 hour worship they had previously, then came the 12 hour worship this year. They hope in the future that there will be 24 hour worship. Pastor Monica also mentioned that, “We are not rushing to make that happen though, all will happen in His time.”
The nation has been a successful nation because the believers are praying so fervently. I believe these are the last days, says sister Shamini. She shared that when she first prayed for a scripture, she was brought to, Psalms 150:6 and it says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” This is the ultimate goal that this event is trying to achieve.
