If you are a high school student aspiring to be a change in your school, there is exciting news! In just about a month’s time, the IGNITE Youth Leadership Summit will be held in-person for the first time ever. Scheduled to be held on 24 September 2022 at the Dream Centre as well as online, IGNITEMY is a hybrid summit cooperatively organised by NextGen (DUMC’s youth ministry) and Scripture Union.
Last year’s IGNITEMY event gathered over 200 participants from 101 schools. Over 30 coaches guided a total of 25 groups. This year’s event will feature an array of dynamic coaches and speakers from various backgrounds such as pastors from leading churches as well as entrepreneurs, performers, and activities. The day conference will culminate in a stirring night rally. The whole programme will inspire students to be catalysts of change wherever they are. Following are the profiles of this year’s coaches and speakers.
IGNITEMY 2022 Speakers
Rev Alexa Ho of PJEFC
In full time pastoring ministry since 2004, Alexa loves people, loves talking, and she gathers energy when she talks to people! She’s happily married to Gary, and together, they have a son, Micah. She’s currently the Senior Pastor of PJ Evangelical Free Church — a church that seeks to love God, love people and make disciples.
Pr Daniel Tan of Generasi Gemilang
Daniel has served in the pastoral ministry for 17 years. Daniel pioneered a ministry to reach the East Malaysians residing in the Klang Valley. The ministry eventually grew to be the SIBLife Church he pastors here in PJ today. Ever since his corporate life, Daniel has been very involved in serving the underserved community. In 2010, he founded a social welfare organisation, Yayasan Generasi Gemilang.
Daryll Tan of Open Minds
Daryll started with establishing his own talent management and video marketing business at 21 years old. Today, he is the Co-Founder and Marketing Technology Consultant at OpenMinds™, and the Founder and Group CEO of food & technology company Feed Forward Sdn. Bhd. Daryll is actively involved in entrepreneurship, startup mentorship, partnership development and social media consultation. As an entrepreneur, he strives to make a positive impact and create purposeful jobs; actively nurturing high-performing, innovative teams and growing entrepreneurs to make a positive impact.

SHN 🎵
After going independent in 2020, SHN released several singles that amassed a total of over 100,000 streams across all platforms. She is most excited about weaving stories into lyrics with pop tunes that will get you either dancing to the likes of “people i love (hurt me)“, having your heartstrings pulled by “I Hope She’s Me” or vibing out to songs like “do ya“. SHN has collaborated with local artists like TheMingThing, Jo Malone, and Estee Lauder, and artists across the causeway and will continue to expand her reach beyond the local music scene!
Night Rally
Pr Ben Rajendram of World Harvest Church
Ben is married to his best friend Bethel, and they have two sons, Joshua and Samuel. He loves the Church and his passion for the house of God and desire to see people’s lives rebuilt is evident in his life, ever since he was a young kid. He is a pastor at World Harvest Church, Sunway, where he leads the Creative Team and is part of the leadership team.
