Hungry to serve the Kingdom but don’t know how? Then, The School of Acts founded by Rev Raymond Mooi together with his wife, Li Meng, may be the place for you.
Since it was founded in 1994, over a thousand students have graduated from a melting pot of nations including Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, Indonesia, Solomon Island, Japan, China, Papua New Guinea, United States and others. Students came from all walks of life including ministry workers, pastors, businessmen, engineers, doctors, dentists and homemakers to name a few.
“The common denominator of these students is that they want to work for God and they are looking for the keys,” said Rev Raymond. “This makes learning exciting with 70 people with different experiences in one class!”
The School of Acts was founded on Rev. Raymond’s passion to evangelize.
In 1979, he went to a school as an 18-year old lad in San Diego under the discipleship of a powerful evangelist. His life was transformed ever since, as he returned to pastor a church in Ipoh at only 19 years old. However, his first love was still evangelism.
After a few years, he began to travel nationwide with that powerful evangelist, Morris Cerullo, and eventually became his Asian Director. He prepared national healing rallies from head to toe, covering logistics, promotion and recruitment of other churches.
For seven years, he would travel. And during these times, he felt an increasing burden to equip church leaders and ministry workers after being exposed to many. He identified two groups, one being stronger in charisma and the other stronger in character.
“On one hand, I see people who are very hungry for the power of God. And these are the charismatic people who move with the Holy Spirit and are on fire for Him. But I also see that they could be stronger in word, discipline and time management skills,” said Rev Raymond.
“On the other hand, I also see a group who does not yearn the power of gifts, anointing and work of the Holy Spirit as much. These are the people of character who are stronger in words and have high integrity,” he added.
The best leader is a mix and balance of charisma and character! And that is the concept of the The School of Acts!
“There are many leaders, but we are lacking in leadership. If we combine charisma and character together, we can do more for God and see His Kingdom extend,” said Rev. Raymond.
Believing in offering practical skills and knowledge, Rev. Raymond selects and employs a group of notable foreign ministers who are strong in their church ministry, evangelism or apostleship. They would be flown into Malaysia to lecture for the week! Indeed, a students’ fee for six months could only cover a week’s cost, if not for God’s providence of funds.
“They don’t just come to deliver the message, but they become the message themselves. Due to their experience, they can give practical examples of what they are teaching,” said Rev. Raymond. “We have an emphasis in experiencing God.”
A training and equipping school, The School of Acts is founded to teach believers on how to do God’s works in their lives. Servant leadership is emphasized, more than a theological emphasis.
Hence, rather than competing with a theological school, The School of Acts complements it by breaking theology open and translating it into immediate and practical application.
The hallmark of The School of Acts is witnessing and also experiencing wonders and miracles, rooted in Rev Raymond’s gift of healing. Every year, at the completion of each course, he would bring his students to conduct a mass miracle rally in cities with strongholds. Thousand of people were brought to Christ, where the blind saw, crippled walked and tumours disappeared!
“When students realized that they have the authority to heal others as a believer in Christ, their perception change. Once they experience a miracle face-to-face, God can use them powerfully due to their increased faith,” said Rev. Raymond who also pointed out the difference between healing as a gift and healing by the authority of the believer.
And now, his graduated students are serving in 38 nations around the world, across all denominations.
“At the The School of Acts, you are prepared in your personal life by getting more breakthroughs and also allow God to change your life in areas you long for. From then on, God can use you in your church where you can be more efficient, effective and stronger,” said Pastor Raymond.
The class times were arranged to give flexibility for everyone.
To put it briefly, one course covers a duration of six months. The part-time night course covers Monday to Wednesday for six months, catering to the working adults. The part-time morning course covers Tuesday to Friday for six months, catering for people who work in the evenings and also homemakers. The full time course combines both part-time and full-time courses. At a very affordable fee, one can be thoroughly equip to do God’s work.

I was one of the graduates of 2007 from the School of Acts. The School of Acts is the very place for me to see a clear visions of my call for the Lord’s ministries today.
My whole life was touched and transformed through the anointed men and women of God from Malaysia and international.
After the School of Acts, I was called to be ordained pastor at Myanmar Lutheran Church in Myanmar in 2009. I became the Principal at the Lutheran Bible Training Institute to train more young people for the ministries of God in Myanmar since 2008. I was installed to be the Mission Director of our church since 2010.
The Lord has been amazing and faithful to provide what we need for His missions if we totally put our trust in Him.

Since she became christian ( leaving the catholic faith) , never held a stable job and lives off our parents retirement funds. she is content to pray all day and stay at home. I am deeply distressed that there seems to be no way to awaken her , btw, we are a christian family and are practicing Catholics. I am sure you agree with St James that faith without works ( or a job to feed oneself) is dead. can someone from your school help and “re- educate ” her.
