Hope Factory

23 April 2013 by Natasha Kim CM –

Beautiful Gate Foundation for the disabled recently opened up Hope Factory in Puchong. In efforts to help the disabled and people with learning disabilities, this building is dedicated to help them attain training and jobs among other things. The foundation was blessed when they managed to acquire a building that costs about RM 100,000 (not inclusive of renovations) due to generous donations from an organization in the United States that wanted to help.

Throughout the years since they began this ministry they have managed to open up 7 centre’s namely in, Kepong, Seremban, Klang, Petaling Jaya, Kampar, Malacca, and Manjung. Hope Factory is their first factory ever for the disabled. Many have been touched by their ministry as they continue to expand and flourish.

I attended their open day where many people from the surrounding area came to witness their good works and have a good meal, including well wishers, the disabled, those who have donated and others. Everyone who entered was given a slip where they could either register to help as a volunteer, help provide job opportunities or donate.

Inside, there were a number of disabled who were brought in from the Petaling Jaya centre to showcase the type of jobs the disabled would do there. They were working on recycled items and packaging. In fact, they have a space where all the recycled items that were collected would be stored. At the moment they have already collected a number of recycled items but need more to come in. Many Churches from the surrounding area have agreed to help send in recycled items.

In terms of packaging, they have managed to get Singapore Airlines as one of their clients to help them package their flight items. Currently Beautiful Gate is working on getting more clients especially in the Food and Beverage industry.

The ground floor of the two floor building is where they will have their recycling activities. There will be jobs where the disabled are able to divide recycling items and and help in terms of making the world a greener and better place. The first floor on the other hand is where the office is and where some of them will be able to work on packaging activities and get training.

There was a booth that was set up by okujobs.com.my as well, a career and employment portal for Malaysians with disabilities. Those who came were blessed as a number made donations to help them.

To succeed they need more donations such as:-

–          2 units of Water Dispensers

–          10 units of Computers

–          80 units of Recycle bins
