Priya and Naomal Anthony, founders of Eternal Life Ministries Global recently graced C3 Subang, and filled everyone with an uplifting message on the importance of having reverence for God. When we have a call of God over our lives, it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes a while because God’s perfect timing molds us into the people that He has called us to be.
Priya based her preaching that day on a portion of scripture of Moses and the burning bush. Moses was called to be a deliverer of his nation. He did an enormous work for God when he led his people out of Bethlehem into the Promised Land. But before that, Moses had to learn how to live in the storms of life.
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”4 When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”And Moses said, “Here I am.”5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.
(Exodus 3:1-5)
“In the wilderness, God prepared him for a greater work,” said Priya. This happened while Moses was tending his sheep one day. Although he was curious when God told him not to come any closer, Moses listened to God, and that was reverence. This man was madly in love with God. He was treated like a king when he lived in the palace but never complained when he had to spend 40 years in the desert. His action shows us that, like Moses, we too need to revere God and keep on being faithful and God will continue to be a light to your path.
Priya recalled a time when God asked her to remove her sandals before preaching to a church, Priya felt uncomfortable so she didn’t do it because she didn’t want to feel inadequate in stature. “That day, the Holy Spirit did not move as much as I wanted him to move,” she said. God was testing her to see if she would listen. The lesson here is to be obedient to the voice of God.
The Fire of God Consumes Us
Faithfulness brings a supernatural touch from God. “God’s fire changes, cleanses, consumes and fills His earth and vessels with the fire of His spirit. Everything that God touches and has ownership of (including us), he wants to consume. He doesn’t like half-baked or half-hearted Christians. He wants us to be ablaze for Him,” shared Priya. She shared that people who are ablaze for God are able to do tremendous things, 'for everything they touch turns into gold.'
For our God is a consuming fire.
(Hebrews 12:29)
God wants us to be consumed by His fire and power so that it will rub off on someone else. “When I go to a place of darkness I believe I’m the light and when I go, that darkness has to flee!” she said in conviction. Where ever you are, you are the light of God, i.e. when you go into a dark room you can’t see until you switch on the light.
“I believe that we go through life doing whatever we have to do but when we come in contact with the presence and power of God, that will radically change us. When we crave Him and want more of Him, He will not disappoint us,” she said.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(Matthew 6:33)
There’s always something more in the kingdom of God. This means there is no limit to our own growth so don’t set limits for yourself, the possibilities are endless when you have a strong relationship with God. Keep persevering through prayer and fasting.
“If you are consumed, you will share your faith at every moment with someone else,” said Priya. God wants to refine us for a greater day when His will is to use us for his good purposes. God will do great things in the church for only in the church, there is blessing. So, get geared up for that day!
