Possessing a photographic memory, Brian Hay shared that he does not premeditate on any topic but speaks as the Lord will, prophetically at that given moment. Hence, on March 25, Brian Hay shared the Word of God in the Ebenezer Chapter of FGB.
For the last 47 years, he had pioneered 11 churches in New Zealand and Australia, apart from being flown into nations to advise governments, banks, and supreme courts around the world.
He shared that everyone has received a certain mandate and a Word from the Lord. The question is what are we doing with that Word?
Referring to the book of Luke, Brian shared how God sent the angel Gabriel to a virgin named Mary, who is to be married to a man named Joseph from the house of David. The angel said to her, “Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.” (Luke 1:28 KJV)
Reading this scripture, we immediately want to esteem an anointed person like Mary and demean our self-worth. Suddenly, we wished to be like her. But Jesus used this Scripture concerning Mary on John the Baptist. Although Jesus said that there was no greater prophet than John the Baptist born of women, Jesus also noted that he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than John. (Luke 7:28)
What is Jesus saying here? Like James, Jesus is saying that God plays no favoritism or holds one man as more important than another, shared Brian. (James 2; Col 3:25) Everyone is anointed with a mandate in life to fulfill because of God’s favor upon you. But the problem is, Brian shared, we often do not see God’s hands upon our lives but we like to compare ourselves with other people. Many times, we wish we were anointed ‘the same way’ like the people that we looked up to. The voice inside of us says, “I could never be like that or do this or that” but that is a lie!
Brian shared how he was a businessman and a multimillionaire before year 2003, where he had owned transport companies, construction companies, subdivision companies, jeweler shops, car-manufacturing companies and many more. Although he was told as a young man that he would never amount to anything, Brian shared that it is a lie because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens you no matter what your backgrounds and limitations are (Phil 4:13). If you believe in God, you can achieve whatever you want to achieve. There is no limit. Jesus said nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37) but He also says nothing is impossible for us as well with faith. (Matt 17:20-21) You can be whatever you want to be in Christ. The same potential in Mary and John the Baptist is also found in you!
Nevertheless, although an angel appeared before Mary with such an affirming mandate, Mary was troubled at the angel’s greeting and ‘cast in her mind’ of what manner of salutation this should be. (Luke 1:29 KJV)
And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. (Luke 1:29 KJV)
Translated from Greek, Brian who came from New Zealand shared what ‘cast-down’ meant to the shepherds there. A ‘cast-down’ sheep is a sheep whose wool absorbed so much water from the dew or rain that its weight causes it to fall over and tumble on its back. At this point, the shepherd would need to pick the sheep back to its feet, or the crows and other birds would pick on it until it dies. Such was the heaviness and paralysis of Mary’s emotions when the angel told her about her having a baby without consummation.
On the other hand, from a jeweler perspective, Brian shared that a ‘cast’ is a mold used to ‘set’ a molten into its permanent shape. Thus, in this case, Mary has her mind ‘set’ on the impossibility of having a baby. Likewise, many of us see the impossibility of our situation in doing God’s mandate, in our natural state or world. And one of the most common reasons we give in not fulfilling God’s mandate is that we do not have enough money to carry it out. When that happens, Brian shared, we do not move anywhere—neither forward nor backward—because of the mold that we cast confines ourselves.
But Paul says:
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-2)
Brian shared how he made multi-million of dollars by faith although he did not have money. Pioneering many churches and traveling around the globe constantly year after year, he saw and personally knew the Hands of Providence by God. Miracles happened when he decided to let go of his business; the Lord started to opened government of nations around the world for him to visit. The problem we have, Brian shared before God opens the door for us, is when we become like Mary whose thoughts were ‘casted’ or ‘set’; we become rationalized in our thoughts on how we are unable to do God’s Will.
Working with the World Bank, he shared how the end times are coming. When the end times come, would we trust God for our daily providence or take the mark of the beast for our trading and survival? Who are you if all your money were gone from your bank? We must be able to tell him that we are the children of God! We do not need money for our lives—this is a lie we hear all over the world, shared Brian, because God will provide.
He also shared how Jesus took a coin and asked the Pharisees and Herodians, whose image and ‘superscription’ is on the coin. This ‘superscription’ word is used only twice: once by Christ in Mark 12 and another in the Book of Revelation. Will we be controlled and bound by money, or do we claim the freedom we already won in Christ? The Pharisees and Herodians asked Jesus if they should pay taxes but Jesus asked them to bring him a penny; He asked, “Whose is this image and superscription?” Jesus then continued answering, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” (Mark 12:16-17 KJV) Hence, we should not put our trust in the money we have.
Most saints have no knowledge of what is going on behind the economic scenes in the world and what is about to come, shared Brian. What is your value? Do not be like Esau who sold his birthright for a bowl of porridge, because God has already put a value and worth on us as human beings! Like how the people set their eyes on the bronze serpent for healing from the biting (Numbers 21:8) and later worshipped it many years later (2 Kings 18:4), we have also set our eyes on money but not God! Do you know how much it cost to print money? Yet, with its minute cost of production, we have placed our value and worth on a piece of worthless paper, to get recognition and esteem. That is the biggest lie.
What if the Lord is zeroing the legislation of all bank accounts in the world? What would you trust? Would you still trust in the money you have or would you trust God?
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! (Isa 31:1)
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. (Jer 17:5)
God shall likewise destroy thee forever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him: Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. (Psalm 52:5-7)
Brian shared that we should not trust in silver, gold, armors, chariots or men, but trust in the Lord your God. We think we need all these things to survive but that is not true, shared Brian. What we need are really food, shelter, clothing, and even health to live (Matt 6:25-34). God provided all these things for the Israelites for 40 years (Exo 16:35; Deut 8:4; Exo 13:21; 1 Cor 10:1). Since you have a mandate and Word from God, money will not bind you as a believer in Christ. God is your provider. Do not be like the Gentiles who fear and worry about what to wear or what to eat, but seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and everything will be added to you (Mark 6:25-34). Money has nothing to do with our security and value.
Brian shared that God has put a call on you. If He wants you to fulfill the mandate, it has nothing to do with money. Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6) If you are doing the work of the Kingdom, God will provide for you. And you will never know the provision of God until you start walking, like how the Israelites stepped into the desert.
Hence, whose images are you transformed into everyday? Are we looking at God, being transformed into the same image as the Lord? (2 Cor 3:18) Or are we transformed into the image that we see in the money, as we set our hearts and our eyes on it? Do not be deceived: where your treasure is, there will be your heart also. (Luke 12:34)
All you need in fulfilling God’s mandate is God Himself, not the money you have currently. Lack of money is never, never, a hindrance to you fulfilling God’s mandate and Word for your life. Do not be ‘cast in your mind’ like Mary, or compare your gifts with other people who ‘appear’ to be more anointed. God doesn’t play favoritism. God has a specific, unique mandate for each of us, which is beyond comparison. Only you are called to perform this specific mandate in your life, no one else but you. Hence, set forth boldly and do not be afraid. The Lord is with you, and that’s all you need. Believe and set your eyes only upon our Lord Jesus Christ.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. (2 Cor 3:18)
