A Biblical Approach to Chinese Traditions and Beliefs revisits the age-old dilemma many Chinese Christians face. Daniel Tong examines various cultural practices and beliefs, and provides guidelines so that Christians will be able to live their faith to the fullest while maintaining their heritage. Viable Christian alternatives to practices during major Chinese festivals, weddings, funerals and ancestral worship are offered.
Speaker Rev. Daniel Tong will be sharing with us on these 3 important topics :
Session One (Rules for Engagement)
Guidelines to help us assess for ourselves the various Chinese practises, with application toward two or three Chinese festivals.
Session Two (Ancestor Worship)
The basis and practise of the veneration of our dearly departed will be explored, with guidance for biblical response.
Session Three (Feng Shui)
The Chinese practise of geomancy will be examined to determine its roots and our Christian response to it’s practise.
