On 11th of January 2015, Su Jun Han, speaker of Art Sowers Talk shared with more than 30 people from the Art College and industry in DUMC about how he glorified God through his motion graphics project.
Jun Han graduated from The One Academy shared how God prompted him to do his final motion graphics project based on the book of Genesis.
“But the challenge is my friend is a non-believer. So, I told him, ‘the idea is very simple: I do the light and spiritual part and you do the darkness and evil part.’ To my surprise, he thinks it’s very cool because he likes dark and gothic stuffs,” said Jun Han.
As the President of Christian Fellowship (CF) in college, he struggled in managing his time between his school projects and leading the CF.
“Sometimes, after my class I have to share in CF. I do not have time to prepare my note. So, I have to prepare during my class. It was awkward for me but I did it anyway,” said Jun Han with a wide smile across his face.
Although his lecturers were skeptical of his project, yet Jun Han and his partner persevered on until completion.
“I was really excited. We spent many hours on this project and that ‘few seconds’ of presentation was like a golden moment in my life. After I presented, I heard applause from my classmates. Some of them shouted, ‘Amen!’” said Jun Han.
Jun Han thought he has completed the project but God has a greater plan! Jun Han continued to submit his video to The One Academy Student Creative Award Competition. He and his friend won Gold Award in motion graphic category.
“I saw God’s amazing power in this entire process. In my high school, I never win any award and trophy. I never expect my first award would come with such an amazing and powerful testimony. I have one project before this in college and I got a bad result.
“My lecturer told me that I would fail this subject because the content had too much about God. I got scared and I wanted to give up on doing art with biblical values. But my Christian friends reminded me the importance of using art to glorified God,” said Jun Han.
On 3rd to 25th of May 2014, he participated in an exhibition called “Momentarily Lost, Permanently Found” with Tau Fei and his team.
“It’s about faith, keep trusting God. There will be failures along the way but God is faithful,” said Jun Han.
His Christian Fellowship advisor Lew Tau Fei added at the end of his sharing, “Jun Han is a man of faith. He perseveres on and believes that his art must glorify God despite his lecturers’ unfavorable comments.
“But when the motion graphics won the Gold award, the lecturers complimented Jun Han’s amazing work. He shared about Christ even in unfavorable situations.”
