4 Things to Confess Everyday

18 Oct 2013 by Mindy Oon CM-

We are bombarded by messages from all over everyday – from tv, from radio, from billboards, and from megazines – and sometimes we don’t even realize how these messages affect us. While it is almost impossible to escape these messages, we can ‘replace’ them by concentrating and confessing the positive.

Here are 4 positive statements that we can confess daily to stay focused on the positive, as well as to increase our opportunity to be a blessing.

I’m So Thankful

Take time each day to thank God for everything you can think of – from the food on your table to the roof over your head. Tell people what you are thankful for. Psalms 107:1-2 says, ‘O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving – kindness endure forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.’

Difficult situations will come, but we need to trust God that He is doing something good right now. Don’t wait till we are in the ‘perfect’ situation to give thanks. If we can be thankful now for the little that we have, we will no doubt be able to thank Him even more when He pours out overflowing blessings.

I Was Made To Encourage

1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells us to encourage one another and build each other up. Each day, be intentional about saying something positive to the people around you. Tell them that you appreciate them. Encouragement is powerful, and it can make people feel better. It may be just the thing to get a person through a tough day. Everyday, ask God to give us word of encouragement for the people around us.

I’m Telling The Truth, No Matter What

Sometimes telling the truth hurts. And let’s face it, sometimes we avoid telling the truth because we don’t want to hurt or offend anyone. Telling the truth may even cause problems. However, Ephesians 4:14 says, ‘let our lives lovingly express truth (in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly).' We need to be committed to the truth. And if we are unsure of how to speak the truth, ask the Holy Sprit to guide you to do so in a manner that is kind and loving.

I’m Going To Say Just Enough

Proverbs 17:28 says ‘Even a fool when he holds his peace is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is esteemed a man of understanding.’ Before we start talking, do ask how much we really need to say; especially for things that we feel strongly about. Sometimes, we need to be quiet and listen to what God is saying. As such, we will never regret saying what He wants us to say!

Few things impact us more than the words we speak. Choose wisely what we say, and concentrate on the positive things and make positive speech a pattern in our lives!
