Just imagine! At a usual speed of 70 – 80 km per hour, in pitch darkness at 10:45 PM, I rammed into a trailer lying across the road. It totally blocked the way for any cars to pass!

The trailer with a canvas covering it was huge – casting a long and dark shadow over the road. It was so high and big that I could not see the lower iron frame of the truck.

It was a hair-raising experience! That crashing impact threw me against the steering, hitting me at the sternum. Pieces of glasses from the shattered wind fell all over me. Within seconds, it crashed to a halt.

In panic, I scrambled out of the car thinking that the car was going to explode! Thank God the door opened just big enough for me to escape. The impact jammed all the other three doors.

The instant I asked, “My God, why this? I have just got back from a household meeting!” But suddenly, I was thanking God. I said, “Thank God, thank God for saving me! Lord, I know it’s you who saved me, for without You, I would have definitely crashed to my death tonight!”

My tongue was bleeding and my chest hurts! I realized that my spectacles were missing and my headband all flew on impact! A piece of glass was even poking my left toe.

As I stood there, I stared unbelievably at the position of the trailer. It was attempting to make a U-turn with its front tyre on the innermost lane and the back tire at the outermost lane.

The tow-truck guy quickly took me to the hospital. On the way, he asked, “Do you have God?”

I said to him, “Of couse, I have God!”

He replied, “Tonight is your God who saved you. If not, you are finished!”

He shared how both he and the traffic police at the scene, lamented that they have never seen such a case and I was still standing alive outside. Indeed thank God, it was such a miracle!

Chest and neck x-ray were done, luckily there was no broken bone, though my neck was kind of jammed because of the impact.

Next, I was sent to the emergency room for the removal of glass piece from the toe. But surprisingly, it was nowhere to be found.

And you know what? The very next morning, I was doing that day’s Bible reading on Ezekiel 34.

“I, the Sovereign Lord, tell you that I myself will look after my sheep and take care of them just exactly the same way as the shepherd looks after his sheep that are being scattered all over and are all brought together again. I myself will bring you back on that dark disastrous days.” (Ezekiel 34:11-12)

Well, God is really so good! He reaffirmed to me that He Himself had saved me and brought me back on that dark disastrous night.

And I know I can bear more fruits for him by sharing with all the others out there and how faithful our God is!

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who aides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

I prayed to the Lord and He answered me,

He freed me from all fears.

The helpless goes to Him and He answers,

He saves them from all troubles.

His angle guards those who honors the Lord,

And rescue them from dagner.

The righteous call to the Lord and He listens,

He rescues them from all their trouble.

The good man suffers many troubles,

But the Lord saves him from them all.

The Lord preserves him completely,

Not one of his bones is broken.

Evil will kill the wicked,

Those who hate the righteous will be punished.

The Lord will save his people,

Those who go to Him for protection will be spared.

(Psalm 34:1-7, 11-22)

Every morning, I pray for God’s protection for I know that Satan is like a roaring lion, roaming about and waiting for someone to devour. Satan is all out to destroy us especially when we are doing God’s work. That is how he laid a trap for me in pitch total darkness to kill me.

But God destroyed his evil plot and snatched me from death that very second. My head was within inches to hitting the windshield and the lower iron frame of the trailer.

And thank God, my car came to a halt instead of crashing to nothingness under the trailer. I know, “God comes to give us life but Satan comes to steal, kill, and to destroy.” (John 10:10)

To share with you the whole picture, It was on the night of 14th June of 2007 that I was to assume the duty as a unit head to look after five households. This is so-to-speak God’s way of promoting me to take more responsibilities.

Just imagine, on the other hand, Satan was on hand to accomplish his evil plans. Because as we were growing bigger in our evangelization, we were establishing the Kingdom of God here on the earth. At the same time, we were destroying the Kingdom of darkness. That is why Satan is trying to destroy us before we destroy them.

But praise the Lord! God is great! God is almighty! He is the power of  all powers! His power reigns supreme! As he also promised us in Luke 10:19.

“Believers shall be given the power to perform miracles. They can heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out even demons in my name. No serpent shall bite them, no poison shall harm them. I shall be with them until the end of times.” (Luke 10:19)

The accident proves victorious for us. God is always the victor! It really strengthens my faith and trust in our Almighty God – how He shielded and protected me when I was in trouble He faithfully answered my humble prayers as I call on Him every day in prayers. Without Him, we are just nothing. We would perish anytime, anywhere into nothingness, for danger is lurking out there every where.

It was unfortunate that the same kind of accident happened to another guy three weeks later after my accident. The van, this 28-year-old man was driving, hit against the tail of the trailer, at the same type of U-turn I had my accident. He was killed instantly. Looking at the newspaper sent chills down my spine for it was so fresh in my memory. I told myself, had it not be for God’s protection, I would have suffered exactly the same fate.

This is an experience to share with all those who have yet to seek God for protection Please do so if you have not, for whatever were to happen, if you seek God every day. God is a faithful God. He will not fail you. Believe me.
