“I tell you all things are possible in God. You are not just anybody, you are a royal priesthood,” declared Pr Pierre Wuytack in the recent FGB Chapter of PJ Damansara Jaya on 21st May. “If you read the Word of God, you need to believe His Word!”
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Pet 2:9)
Giving up his job, Pr Pierre answered God’s calling for him to be a missionary in Madagascar, under World Outreach. Today, he has built 16 schools for the poor in Madagascar, changing lives of over 16,500 children.
“You are seated with God in Heavenly place, above every principality and power. Don’t blame anybody else for your failures but praise God for your success because you’re supposed to be successful as a chosen people and royal priesthood,” said Pr Pierre.
He shared about Hebrew 10:16, which says, ‘This is the covenant I will make with them; after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.’
This covenant is the new covenant in Jesus Christ. The old covenant has gone! In fact, Jesus Christ mentioned how he has come to fulfill the Law (Matt 5:17).
And because Jesus has fulfilled the law, the law is not part of our lives anymore. Some Galatians wanted to fulfill the law in some way by circumcising themselves, to please those who follow the Law of the Old Testament. (Gal 6:12)
But Paul responded, “Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.” (Gal 6:15)
To the Colossians as well, Paul wrote to them, “In Him, you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self, ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised in Christ.” (Col 2:11)
In fact, James wrote that if we keep the whole law, yet stumble at just one point, we are guilty of breaking all of it. (James 2:10) Who then can claim that they can prove their righteousness before God?
However, many people put their trust more on men and other things more than God.
For example, some people believe in tithing 10 percent of their income based on Deuteronomy, which is in the Old Testament. But the New Covenant said that we should tithe according to what we have decided in our heart, because God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:7)
God is looking for worshippers who worship Him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24) The Holy Spirit testified to the believers in Christ in Hebrews 10:16, “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
“When the law of God is in us, when Christ is in us, we don’t want to sin and desire to repent,” shared Pr Pierre.
Paul noted in 2 Cor 3:3, ”You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
Because we have the Spirit of God in us, we can be transformed day-by-day with the power of the Holy Spirit, shared Pr Pierre. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and not their own flesh in fulfilling the law. (Jer 17:5;7-8)
Make no mistake, you are a royal priesthood before the Living God.
