On 18th of November, Rev Alvin Cheah—a prophet, revivalist, and pastor—came to share in the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship of the Ebenezer Chapter, led by Steven Toh.
With a strong prophetic and healing anointing, Alvin had been granted the advisory role to kings, presidents, high-rank government officials, CEO’s of major corporations, and religious leaders in his 30 years of ministry.
To date, Alvin has globetrotted through six continents to over 40 countries preaching the message of revival.
“From time to time, our experiences must be fresh from God because yesterday’s manna does not feed your soul today. Yesterday’s methods are not good enough. Today’s strategy needs new strengths and methods,” said Alvin.
So often, we are comfortable in our comfort zone—we sing the same songs and gave the same offering. But we lost the fire from God.
Hence, to reignite our passion, we need to hear from the Spirit of the law, not the letter of the law. (2 Cor 3:6)
He has made us competent as minsters of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. (2 Cor 3:6)
“When you don’t hear the spiritual revelation or rhema word of God, you spirit will not be energized. You are listening to men’s words and psychology but not God,” said Alvin.
Alvin shared that the Church may find itself in a dry spiritual spell, due to the dichotomy of spiritual and secular affairs. In the name of preserving holiness, some of us might not want to get involved with worldly matters such as business and politics.
But we forget that Joseph was a prophet and also the prime minister of Egypt. He was connected spiritually to God and was also placed in a position of influence in politics and business.
Alvin called this anointing the Joseph’s anointing—a leadership anointing that brings down God’s Kingdom to the marketplace.
Yet, some of us had been shying away from power and wealth. We think that poverty is a badge of holiness. But the truth is money is a necessary tool to advance God’s Kingdom, either given or received.
“A lot of people thought that we only need the Holy Spirit and ability to speak to spread the gospel. But they don’t have money to even pay their air tickets, though they know the Word and they have the heart,” said Alvin.
How can we picture Joseph’s anointing?
The kings during the biblical times had learned from their historical archives that prophets serve as excellent advisors in decision-making. Akin to businessman seeking a Feng Shui master, kings seek the advices of prophets.
However, prophets differ from feng shui masters by always speaking the truth regardless of the consequences. They do not pay lip service just to gain favor from the king, but they want to honor their King in Heaven.
“Why can a prophet do that? This is because his pride is broken. His flesh has been put to death. He is not afraid. If you are not afraid, God can raise you up to become a prophet,” said Alvin.
As long as we are in the marketplace, we can receive Joseph’s anointing or leadership anointing. And leaders have power and wealth.
“In this end time season, God will release this Joseph’s anointing to break the dichotomy of the people of God, so that we have both power and wealth, what you call as Joseph’s anointing,” said Alvin.
After all, we are meant to be the head and not the tail, (Deut 28:13) not for our sake, but for the sake of God’s Kingdom on earth.
