A Plan and Destiny for Everyone

11 March 2014 by Natasha Kim CM –

Rev Bill Abbenbroek shared the good Word at City Revival Church recently, on the 2nd of March 2014, at Holiday Villa, Subang Jaya, about how God has a plan for both you and I. Exceptionally anointed in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Bill recently retired as the Senior Pastor of 45 years at Sunshine Coast, New Life Centre. He has travelled to many nations and encouraged many missionaries, in addition to training national leaders at conferences. “We have enjoyed what God has done over the years. He has brought us into many different experiences and many different levels. God is always wanting us to move forward and He wants to bring you into a new place with Himself,” shared Bill. Hence, do not get too comfortable or be satisfied with where you are now, for God is ready to bring you up to greater heights, only if you are willing and ready!

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (Psalm 37:23-24)

Believe it or not, each and every one of us has a destiny to fulfill. If you are feeling lost and out of place in your life, sincerely seek God for guidance and be prepared to see the doors that were once shut, fling open! “God has a new season of supernatural blessings and favor for everyone. Do you want it? Do you desire it? Are you hungry for it?” he said. Saying, “your steps are planned” doesn’t mean that you are puppets. God has given us the gift of free will. “Because He has given us that, He will not manipulate or violate that. So what’s the answer in all of this? We don’t understand the way that we go, yet God orders our steps,” said Bill.

The answer to this question is simple, Bill answered. “God has given you a brain. He’s given you wisdom. Every step you take is your choice! You choose your physical steps and that is your responsibility. God’s steps and our steps are totally different!” he said. God leads us from strength to strength, from glory to glory, from abundance to greater blessing. “God does not wait to order every little physical step. Instead, He looks into bringing you into a new level of grace and favour,” said Bill.

In order to step into a season (new level) you must:-

1) Believe that your steps are ordered by God, for it will produce great confidence, because you know God is in charge.

The steps of a good man, are planned, ordered and prophesized. It is not a random journey for it is structured and planned by God. “When you had your first heartbeat, God put His spirit inside you, His DNA inside of you. It doesn’t matter whether you come from a good, poor, dysfunctional home or even if you’re homeless! Your past does not matter; it has no relevance for your future and destiny that God has for your life,” shared Bill. When you decide to take a detour (go your own way), then you might stumble and fall into pain but the Lord tells us that if His Word is in our Hearts, that none of our physical steps will be in vain. It will not be wasted because God will then use those steps and bring you into a higher level. “Why? Because you believe. Hence the Lord tells you, “Do not worry”, Bill shared.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

2) Believe that your steps are ordered by God for it will bring you into a great company with other people. You will walk with good people.

“Many Christians befriend people who are losers, who are negative, who are complainers. This shows you how much value you put upon yourself. You gravitate towards people who make you feel comfortable. However I say to you, if you want your next season to be perfectly blessed by God then, you need to let God order your steps, to bring you into the best friendships and the best relationships, people who will be an encouragement to you,” shared Bill. If you’re going to go through tough times, you’ll find great people in the house of God. Don’t run away from Church, run to it!

I urged Titus to go to you and I sent our brother with him. Titus did not exploit you, did he? Did we not walk in the same footsteps by the same Spirit? (2 Corinthians 12:18)

What good fellowship we once enjoyed as we walked together to the house of God. (Psalm 55:14)

A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

3) Believe that your steps are ordered by God, for it will put great expectations for your future and for those you share your world with.

Have an expectation in God and believe in His plans for your future. “You have to believe in God for something you cannot do, something that is in the realm of the supernatural that cannot happen to you right now. God wants you to believe in Him and have expectations,” said Bill.

And he is then also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised. (Romans 4:12)

A man’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way? (Proverbs 20: 24)

4) Believe that your steps are ordered by God, you will make great comebacks. Even if things go wrong, you will come back and become even stronger.

There must be a genuine change in your heart and in your attitude for you to want to go back to God!

The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. (Psalm 37:31)
