For close to 20 years, the iBridge camps have brought together many young adult Christians from various denominations to encourage, fellowship, share, and learn from one another. The camps are organised by the Graduates Christian Fellowship (GCF) who have done very active work among the young Christians in our nation. Ever since its inception in 2002, they have taken place annually without missing a single year.
Over a space of 3-4 days of retreat, attendees come to make new friends and learn from the personal experiences of mentor figures about the challenges, experiences, and joy that will challenge, encourage, and make us rethink about our lives, and ultimately go out and make a lasting impact for God in the lives of the people around us.
Over the past two years, however, the pandemic has put a temporary halt to this. This year, iBridge is finally back with its first physical camp since the pandemic and it’s only 3 months away! Taking on the theme of ‘What if?‘, iBridge 2022 will be taking stock of these last two years. COVID-19 has shown us that nothing in this world is certain. Things can take us unprepared and in uncertain times, it’s hard to plan for the future. If you are between the ages of 21-35 and have had questions like
What if I spent the last two years more productively?
What if I wasn’t struggling physically, mentally and financially?
What if, through it all, I knew about God…but am lost, spiritually?
(But) what if COVID-19 was part of a greater plan and opportunity?
What if my actions can make a difference in my community?
What if I could follow the lead of He who overcame adversity?
iBridge invites you to join them to come before the Lord in reverence, to renew our hope in His word and presence, and build spiritual friendships with love and substance.
Who are the Mentors of iBridge Camp 2022?
This year, the camp speakers will be sharing from a myriad and comprehensive list of topics. The topics will include some that are personal to our own lives, while others will look at the broader spectrum of our place in society. The list of topics are What If? (Plenary), Metaverse (workshop), Nation- building (workshop), Working Life (workshop), and Mental Wellness (workshop). Below is a short introduction of each speaker.
Alvin Ung (Plenary : WHAT IF?)
Alvin Ung seeks to live out his calling to connect and grow deep by finding purpose together. He is a teacher, facilitator and student of leadership. He serves on the faculty of Regent College in Vancouver, as well as the Royal Institute of Governance and Strategic Studies in Bhutan. He leads Purpose Labs in the United Nations. He has written four books, including Together: Finding Purpose at the Crossroads of ME+WE, Barefoot Leadership and Taking Your Soul to Work (with Paul Stevens). Together with Fern, his wife, they enjoy traveling to small towns, and telling children’s stories at the Children’s Library at CDPC Puchong, where they worship. They homeschool their son, Andrew, aged 13. They are also part of the original team that gathered in their home and co-founded iBridge.
Peter Ho (Workshop : Metaverse)
Peter is a data scientist in the central bank of Malaysia. He has a keen interest in all things computing, especially in the area of applied analytics. He observes how all generations are the same and different at the same time, and spent weekends swatting shuttlecocks. He worships in Every Nation Church Malaysia.
Yvonne Phan (Workshop : Nation-Building)
Yvonne has worked with the government of Malaysia since 2003. During her years of service, she was involved in HR functions, ministerial performance monitoring, and productivity studies. More recently, she was involved in procurement investigations. She is currently pursuing her doctorate on meaningful work. She enjoys TV (a lot), baking (not very good) and theatre (anytime). She lives with her husband in Putrajaya and spend her time working on her thesis (semoga dipermudahkan). She worships in Every Nation Church Malaysia.
Jared Chan (Workshop : Ppl@Work)
Jared is a HR Business Partner at UEM Sunrise specialising in recruitment, learning and culture. An IT graduate who crossed over from the realm of machines to people, he is actively involved in various church ministries. He enjoys teaching, encouraging and inspiring people to pursue their dreams, reach their potential, and become a blessing to their communities. He is an extrovert who loves music, sports, board games and catching up with people over ‘cham panas’ and cakes. His life quote is ‘Carpe Diem’. He and his wife, Cheryl, have been married for 20 years and have three sons. They worship at Subang Jaya Assemblies of God (SJAG).
Eddryll Teo (Workshop : Mental Wellness)

Some Testimonies from Participants of Past Years’ iBridge Camps
I’ve been attending iBridge Camps since 2011, so I guess you could say, I’m an iBridge veteran. It’s hard for me to summarise all my experiences but if you’re considering to sign up and wondering if it is worth it, I would say it is. I have never regretted attending the camps throughout the years, as I always learn something from each camp. It’s simply not something you experience every day: To be able to zip off to a four-day retreat, free from any responsibilities back home, be myself, meet fellow Christians from various backgrounds, find commonalities with each other, learn together, laugh together, complain about certain “quirks” of the campsite together, whether it be the food, the room or whatnot. At a Nation Building session, I learned that we shouldn’t put our “hope” in politics. At a Work session, I learned that there are many aspects to take into account holistically on performing our work to glorify God. During an outing nearby the campsite, I walked alongside someone as I poured out my heart, and received encouragement and validation from a person I only met a day prior, but already felt like he understood where I was coming from. God speaks to us in many ways, and He may just decide to speak to your heart during this camp. Sign off on that registration form, and enjoy the ride.

I attended iBridge first in 2005 and a few camps after that .. and made friends that keeps in touch even to this day. Met new friends and learned how to transition from studies to work .. a good deal, I say.

My first iBridge camp was in Tapah, Perak. I had just graduated from university and the camp was not long after I return home to Malaysia. I enjoyed camps like these. We made new friends (some whom we are still very close till now!). I realised whatever stage of life we are in, we have brothers and sisters in Christ who can empathise, share life and learn from. I remember the impression of the few key speakers in that camp and leaving the campsite more energised and ready to take on the marketplace. The topics, workshops and speakers were carefully selected to ensure that they are relevant to our calling and identity in Christ. I’ve been to at least 4 camps. Go-lah!

WOW! Has it really been 10 years since I last went to an iBridge camp? I recalled having a good amount of fun, balanced off with a good amount of seeking and thinking. The camp made a big impact on me as I got to meet some amazing people, both campers and speakers whom became close friends, mentors and role models for life. I highly recommend signing up – there will be something that you can take away and cherish for a long long time.

Camper/Camp commander iBridge 2008
3 of us from GCF Thailand joined iBridge camp in 2016 and it was an amazing time. It was a new experience to stay in a jungle, disconnect from social media and connect socially with new people in REAL LIFE. Thank God for the blessed time of meeting lovely people in the camp. It was very insightful for me to exchange some views about how God works and how He loves us! The MBTI-personal activity was fascinating. I met people similar to me as well as different from me. I also learned how to cooperate with them (I still use this lesson till now!). I was super happy to join the camp, it was SUPER fun and I have learned! I hope everyone will enjoy future iBridge camp too.
