On 17th of August, Kingdom Christian Fellowship (KCF) celebrated their 5th anniversary as they held a grand banquet in the Grand Dorsett Hotel in Subang Jaya. Around 850 guests came to the event. Amongst them were pastors from different churches, businessmen and also professionals who came from various nations such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Africa, and of course Malaysia.
The hall outside the ballroom bustled about with guests dressed in gowns and suits, waiting to enter the ballroom. Non-profit organization and small-business booths also lined the sides of the hall, selling books, art pieces, and beverages.
At 7:30 PM, the guests were ushered into the ballroom. Beginning with singing the national anthem, Rev Dr Jai Kumar led an opening prayer, followed by a lively praise and worship led by Pr Dianithi Durairaju.
All the guests stood to sing praises to the Lord, while about 30 worship dancers of young and old danced in colorful dresses and suits in the middle of the ballroom. Some swung their colorful flags while others simply twirled around; a few children were also seen holding hands and skipping in a circle.
KCF President Pr Yap Kok Sun gave the welcoming speech, followed by a speech of gratitude by Rev Dr Raymond Yeo, co-founder and adviser of KCF.
“Shalom, what a joy in our God! First of all, I want to thank you all for coming to support and celebrate with us,” said Rev Raymond. “I would also like to thank the organizing committee led by Brother Ronny Kung for their hard work in preparing for this night.”
A marketplace leadership ministry, KCF is affiliated with 20 nations in training, equipping and empowering marketplace leaders to do community work. One of their community efforts is starting the Subang Jaya Food Banking May 2011 to provide food for 47 impoverished families.
Apart from providing food, KCF also contribute donations to homes, orphanages and ministries as well. During the dinner, checks were presented on-stage to the representatives of House of Joy, Living Hope, Hosanna Community Centre in Malacca, Trinity Community Centre, and Precious Children’s Home. Donations were also made to ministries abroad, namely River of Life in the Philippines, Good Life Friendship in Russia, and WON ministry in India.
A ministry that extends beyond the shores of Malaysia, KCF also makes yearly trips abroad, whereby two major recent trips were made to the Philippines. In 2011, KCF worked with the local ministry partners in India to reach the rural villagers.
And while the guests filled their bellies with good food, they were also filled with the spiritual food given by many pastors and businessmen; Rev Dr Paul Ang from Global Vision shared about the gospel of salvation while Dr Lawrence Hirsch from Celebrate Messiah Australia shared the significance of God’s people forming a nation. Lastly, brother Timothy Tang shared how he found Christ when he lost his son to cancer.
In between of the sharing, two talented musical bands, the Holy Land Rhythmicals and New Life Entertainment entertained the guests with their soulful voices.
And approaching the end of the night, Pr Jayarajan D. led the guests in praising the Lord, “Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” The dinner ended around 11 PM. With a satisfied belly and joyful heart, the guests left after a night of delightful fellowship with one another.
