“It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past. Jesus can use anyone. Why? Because you are accepted in the Beloved. He’s already accepted you!” shared Senior Pastor Mylene Evangelista of New Life Christian Centre, Manila, Phillipines.
She shared an encouraging Word with everyone who attended Jesus Festival. The conference that was held on the 24th of May 2014 at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre saw many people of all ages coming together in unity to hear about the greatness and eternal love of Jesus Christ.
“Jesus prophesized restoration before He even committed anything. I’m here to tell you, that you are assured of your restoration in Him. If you missed the mark don’t run away from God, because He has already prepared your restoration. He has already prepared your future!” shared Mylene.
During the darkest hours before Jesus was prosecuted, he was denied by Peter, and despite that, He still prayed for Peter. “That’s our Jesus. Amen,” she said. Mylene went on to stress the fact that God is not our employer, He is our father.
“Look at Him as a father. If you look at Him as an employer, you will do time in and time out,” said Mylene. We need to serve God as sons and daughters, and not look at ourselves as servants. “We are sons and daughters of the highest God who WE CHOOSE to serve!”
We should serve God because we want to be closer to Him, and because He has lavished us with so much love that we cannot help but love and serve Him.
“Jesus did not suffer and die to increase Heavens household staff. God does not want your service He wants your heart because if He has your heart, He knows He has your service,” shared Mylene.
People who have a revelation of the grace of God are the most diligent, hardworking, and faithful people in the Church and they do not even have to be told to do it. We don’t work for His love but out of His love.
“I did not have my son Kevin and say, ‘Ooh when he grows up, he’s going to serve me.’ You know why I have children? Because I wanted to pour out my love on them,” she said.
When your baby comes out, there’s just an undeniable love that’s felt from within. Likewise, God did not birth you into His kingdom to serve Him, He birthed you into the kingdom because He wanted to pour His love out on you. God had love for you from before you were born; and in His eyes, you are already pleasing to Him.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
“If you are focused on abiding in Him, and not on performing for Him, then fruit is inevitable,” said Mylene.
Beneficial deeds, living a good life, and doing good works comes after knowing that He loves you.
“Then you will begin doing things out of your heart. You will be productive and you won’t be lazy,” said Mylene.
Be empowered by His acceptance! The good news does not begin with an invitation to receive Jesus but it begins with the announcement that Jesus receives you, and that is just the beginning of the good news! Our value is not determined by our performance or success. It is determined by the One who loves you and accepts you.
Who gave himself (Jesus) for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (Titus 2:14)
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32)
“If God did not hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing Himself to the worst by sending His own son, is there anything else, that He would not gladly and freely do for us? He is not only able, but He is willing!” shared Mylene.
Therefore, if you want a proper estimation of your worth, do not look at your pedigree, your last name, or your social media popularity but look to the cross!
“Look to the finish work of Jesus because Jesus loves you more than His own life. He gave His own life for you. It is who you are in Him. The gospel is not an invitation to accept Jesus but it is the beautiful and stunning revelation, that He accepts you!” said Mylene in the utmost conviction.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
