Dr. Chow Li Sze’s journey is one of heartbreaking loss, healing, and a new calling through her faith in God. A young mother with a shattered marriage and her only son dying, Dr. Chow was devastated when her son passed away at almost three years of age. Consumed by grief and suicidal tendencies, she was encouraged by Christian friends’ prayers and support as well as God’s closer presence. Scripture passages and testimonies from others of God’s comfort alleviated guilt and pain and finally encouraged her to document her experiences in her book A Grieving Heart Is Most Loved. Through her suffering, she learned that she was not who she was merely through academic success but as a precious child of God.

Dr. Chow actively participates in church and society today. She teaches electrical and electronic engineering at UCSI University. She started and pioneered the Women of Acts ministry at Christ Lutheran Church in 2022, and subsequently spearheaded the Hospital Mission in reaching out to many sick children and their mothers in the hospital. Through her YouTube channels — LiSze Piano, where she shares soothing worship music, and Heavenly Devotion, where she provides English- and Chinese-language Scripture-based devotionals — she also ministers to a wide online community. Her faith, shaped by hardship, now fuels her compassion for others, and she continues to preach healing, forgiveness, and love of God to inspire those who are hope-starved, and this has extended to visitations to the less fortunate.

In the process, she has encountered many miraculous events that displayed God’s compassion and mighty power to heal. Recently, she shared with us two instances of this, out of the many she has witnessed, as a blessing and encouragement to the Malaysian Christian community. The first is about the healing of a premature baby, Aaron, whom her hospital mission reached out to. Even the doctor had given up but Aaron’s story is a true miracle.
I Surrender All: The Story of a Healing of a Premature Baby with Multiple Organ Complications
(Taken from Dr Chow Li Sze’s eNewsletter)
Today, I would like to share an amazing testimony of God’s healing upon a pre-mature baby, Aaron. One Sunday in October last year, I walked into Hospital Tunku Azizah and came to baby Aaron and his dad Ben. Aaron was very tiny, born prematurely in the 30th week with some complications. He had holes in his heart and his bowel was not moving, so the doctor opened a stoma in his intestine. He had critical infections in his lung with scar tissues. There was a critical time when his oxygen percentage (SpO2) dropped to 6! (normal is 95-100). He was on a high-frequency ventilator in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for 6 months. He had gone through 6 surgeries at this very young age. The doctor was not positive about Aaron. Both his parents, Ben and Emily, were heartbroken to see their firstborn suffer like this.
Without Jesus, his parents would have lost hope, and baby Aaron could have gone already. Nevertheless, our merciful God has led me to reach out to them, encourage them, and pray for them. I encouraged his parents with what Jesus said to the bleeding woman, “Your faith has healed you” (Mark 5:34). The bleeding woman had a non-stop flow of blood for 12 years. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. She was healed instantly because of her faith.
The faith of the parents is very crucial for the healing of their baby. Praise the Lord for the gift of faith upon Ben and Emily. They did not give up but kept on praying earnestly. Our hospital mission team has been praying for Aaron every Monday via Zoom prayer. It’s not by our might or power, but it’s by the mighty hands of God. Over the months, we saw improvement in Aaron little by little. We hear the good news of healing one after another.
The holes in his heart are closed by the healing hands of God without surgery. Later, the biopsy report showed that he was free from Hirschsprung disease and bowel dysmotility. Both his small and large intestines are working fine. Praise the Lord! Eventually, the doctor did the stoma reversal surgery to close the stoma. After recovery, Aaron can pass the motion in his anus. He continues to grow stronger every day until he is fully oral-fed without relying on intravenous total parenteral nutrition. Finally, Aaron was discharged last month (on May 2) after 9.5 months in hospital! Hallelujah!!! I rejoice with Aaron and his parents. Finally, he is home sweet home with his parents. Praise the Lord for His miracle hands and healing grace upon Aaron. All glory to God!

There are many times in life that we ask God, “How long?… How long?…” I have been asking this question too. But I told myself “Never give up” but keep on praying. Ben and Emily had been praying for nearly 10 months until they finally brought Aaron home. I have been praying for the past 11 years for my special daughter. I don’t know how long, but I have seen changes even as little as frying an egg to make a sandwich lunch on her own. That’s worth all my prayers and to give thanks to God even for the least change. My equation of “transformation” is derived from an “addition of little by little” and “multiply by the grace of God”! This is what I saw in the healing of baby Aaron.
Whatever your situation, just surrender to Jesus. I pray that as you surrender all your problems to Jesus, you will be filled with His peace that surpasses all understanding, and you will have the assurance in His promise even with a little faith, as Jesus said, “… Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). If you are willing to surrender to Jesus, I pray that Jesus will remove your mountain, your sickness, your struggle, or your problems… What is impossible for men is possible for God, in Jesus’ most precious name, Amen!

The Journey of Healing of a 9-years-old girl diagnosed with leukemia
In another testimony, Dr Chow witnessed the healing of a girl from B-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Over the past seven months, a prayer team has faithfully interceded for children battling serious illnesses, including Grace Lim, a 9-year-old girl diagnosed with the aforementioned affliction. After initial success with chemotherapy, Grace relapsed twice and standard treatments became useless. Physicians there recommended a Singaporean cutting-edge CAR-T immunotherapy and had suggested a sum of RM1.2 million, an amount the family could never have afforded. It was only providence from above that the charity managed to raise the total amount in just 8 hours. Despite all the added setbacks, including infections and inflammation in her brain, Grace’s prayer team continued to pray for her every Monday night, trusting God for her healing.
Through each painful stage – from T-cell harvest to chemotherapy and danger-filled CAR-T infusion- God’s guarding shone forth. On June 26 and again on July 8, the MRD tests for Grace were negative, showing no leukemia and an abundance of CAR-T cells in her brain, offering extra protection. Her mom was thankful to God for the healing and supply in a miraculous manner. The testimony verifies the effectiveness of tenacious prayer, even with as small as a mustard seed faith. As Grace continues, her story is still a powerful witness to the truth that man’s impossibility can be accomplished with God.

Shalom, and be grateful if you are healthy today!
Who am I? I praise the Lord for He has given me the privilege to walk through the past 7 months in prayer and to write this amazing testimony of a 9-year-old girl diagnosed with leukemia.
My Hospital Mission team has been consistently praying for 3 leukemia children and several long-term diseased children every Monday night. Leukemia is a blood cancer that arises from a genetic mutation in the bone marrow, which disrupts the normal formation of blood cells. Thus, the bone marrow produces excessive abnormal and dysfunctional white blood cells called leukemia cells. Leukemia is not always curable.
In December 2024, a friend requested us to pray for Grace Lim, 9 years old, who was diagnosed with B-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was 5 years old. After she went through a year and a half of chemotherapy, the minimal residual disease (MRD) was negative, which means no more cancer cells were detected. She happily returned to school.
Unfortunately, Grace had a relapse last year, and her white blood cells shot up very high again. The doctor recommended her for a bone marrow transplant in August 2024, donated by her 6-year-old brother. Then, she continued with the chemotherapy. Unfortunately, she had another relapse 3 months later. Her condition was worsening each day with frequent high fevers. She was very weak and couldn’t move or walk much. It was during this time that a friend requested us to pray for Grace.
After two relapses, the conventional treatments are no longer effective for Grace. The doctor recommended Grace for CAR-T therapy in Singapore. It is a form of immunotherapy that uses a patient’s immune T cells to destroy the cancer cells. The patient’s T cells are extracted and genetically modified in the lab to become chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells, which are infused back into the patients. It is expected to multiply and attack the cancer cells. However, this treatment in Singapore costs RM1.2 million, which is impossible for her parents to pay. They have attempted several fundraising organisations, yet too far from reaching such a huge amount.
We kept praying to Jesus to heal Grace and to help her family raise this amount. With the little faith we have, while looking at this nearly impossible prayer requests, we continue to pray every Monday, as Jesus said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” (Luke 18:27). Eventually, they found One Hope Charity & Welfare NGO, which managed to raise RM1.2 million within 8 hours through their vast marketing contacts. This amazing favour and provision of God is beyond anything I could ever imagine! God has made it possible! Praise the Lord that Grace could proceed with the CAR-T therapy in Singapore.
Grace went to Singapore for the T-cell extraction on March 31 (2025) for 2.5 days. Thank God for a smooth procedure in extracting sufficient healthy T-cells. However, the MRI scan revealed 2 huge white spots in her brain, which could be due to a stroke. Thankfully, an experienced paediatrician found out that it was an inflammation caused by too much chemo, but the good news is that it could dissolve by itself without surgery. Thank God for answering our prayers.

During this period, Grace had a fever and bacterial infection, which delayed the date for infusion of CAR-T cells. We kept on praying nonstop every Monday. Thank God again for answering another prayer that her liver abscess shrunk from 1.6 to 0.68. Grace had to go for intrathecal chemotherapy with lumbar puncture and lymphocyte depletion chemotherapy. You couldn’t imagine how much physical pain a 9-year-old girl has to endure at this young age.
Finally, her body was ready for her Big Day, and the infusion of CAR-T cells was done on June 5. The doctor warned that Grace might have a high chance of seizures due to the inflammation in her brain. But we prayed and rebuked it. Praise the Lord that Grace didn’t have any seizures.
We received good news on June 26 that her MRD result is negative, which means she is cancer-free! Praise the Lord! Another piece of wonderful news is that a recent MRD test on July 8, 28 days post-CAR-T therapy, also showed negative results, with no leukaemia cells found in her blood. However, there is a high volume of CAR-T cells in her brain, which is beneficial for protection. Wow! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!!!

Grace’s mom, Chyn, told me how thankful she is to God for everything. Not every leukemia child has the privilege to receive the CAR-T therapy in Singapore. It’s only by the grace and provision of God to raise such a huge amount to go for this therapy. Even in the process of extraction, waiting, fighting the fungal infections, and the final infusion with the risk of seizure, God has been protecting Grace and has brought her through every journey of treatments until today. We pray for Grace Lim to be completely healed from leukemia, no more relapses, and God will seal this healing completely and use her testimony to encourage many parents and children, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
I see the power of faithful and consistent prayers, even with the little faith we have. I remember how I have prayed the same prayer so many times every Monday for all the sick children, using Matthew 17:20, Jesus replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” We kept praying that all the sicknesses of the children are removed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ.
The Lord is indeed worthy to be praised!
From the ashes of her personal tragedy, God has given Dr. Chow purpose and she has emerged as a vessel of hope, healing, and purpose. Her ministry today is marked by a deep compassion for the broken and afflicted, shaped by her own scars and redemption. Through her book, musical ministry, teaching, devotionals, charitable work, and hospital outreach, she reflects God’s comfort and power to heal.

But Dr. Chow’s journey isn’t so much about her as it is about a remarkable almighty God who demonstrates His power not through a display of physical might but through the power of His love. The miracles Dr Chow encounters is a testament to the transformative power of suffering surrendered to God and the miraculous recoveries of baby Aaron and Grace Lim are not merely stories of medical progress but divine interventions sparked and sustained by unwavering prayer and mustard-seed faith. These testimonies remind us that when we surrender fully to Jesus, mountains do move, healing flows, and hearts are restored.
As Dr. Chow continues to serve the sick, the grieving, and the spiritually hungry, everything she witnesses speaks clearly: we are not defined by our suffering but by the God who walks with us through it. In every prayer uttered and every life touched, she discovers again the truth of Matthew 19:26 — “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” May her story and the remarkable encounters of others in her journey inspire a generation to believe again in miracles, to press on through trials, and to hold fast to a hope that does not disappoint. To God be all the glory. He is indeed worthy to be praised!
