Are you tired of hearing about Gen Z from everyone but Gen Z? Knowable God, an online evangelism ministry, is changing the narrative with its writing contest, “Gen Z Speaks.” This contest invites young adults aged 16-27 to share their unique perspectives on life and faith.
Gen Z Speaks provides a powerful platform for young voices, offering cash prizes of up to RM3,500 and the chance to be featured on prominent Christian platforms such as Asian Beacon, Christianity Malaysia, Faithour, and Knowable God itself.
More Than a Writing Contest
The vision extends far beyond prizes and recognition; it is a movement to inspire, equip, and amplify the voices of Gen Z. They aim to nurture the next generation of leaders and storytellers.
This broader purpose aligns perfectly with Knowable God’s mission as an online evangelism ministry. What better way to reach and engage the new generation than through their native digital landscape?
“We noticed many articles about Gen Z weren’t written by Gen Z,” explains David Chong, founder of Knowable God. “People want to hear directly from them, not through a so-called expert’s view.”
Knowable God has already seen success. Their experimental articles, penned by Gen Zers, have organically garnered over 10,000 views, primarily through search engines, demonstrating a clear appetite for fresh perspectives.
A Judging Panel Bridging Generations
The contest aims to identify writers who can genuinely represent their generation’s voice. To ensure a balanced judging process, the panel will feature a blend of seasoned experience and Gen Z perspective.
Lysha Tan, a former TV journalist, combines her media expertise with her Christian faith to inspire through storytelling. Writing for Knowable God since 2022, she dedicates her free time to teaching refugees and students in Sabah.
Representing the Gen Z perspective is Gwyneth Lim, a copywriter with a passion for weaving words. A lover of words on paper, classical music, and Jesus, she also has a big heart for sharing Jesus’s love with the world through writing.
Who Can Participate?
The contest is open to all Christians aged 16-27 residing in Malaysia. Submissions must be original, unpublished works of at least 1,000 words.
