25 Jan 2014 by Rev Dr Steven Kau –
Current events are often an indicator or a reminder of things to come. We move forward into the New Year, 2014 and leading the procession worldwide is unadorned evil. We should expect no less, I suppose, considering the more than obvious lateness of the prophetic hour in which we find ourselves.
Some of the evil is blatant – in your face. Like the 17,000 lesbians meeting in Argentina late in 2013, many of whom were topless and painted with the Nazi swastika, attacked men praying in front of a Catholic cathedral to protect it from vandalism. The lesbians were protesting any and all opposition to abortion, screaming, “Get your rosaries out of our ovaries.”
One Fox News reporter who witnessed the assault said you could sense an evil there. I heard another person say she could feel an almost demonic presence within the viciousness with which the women assaulted the men.
In 2012, the Oklahoma State Legislature authorized someone to put a monument inscribed with the Ten Commandments on the grounds of the Oklahoma State Capitol. But there are people who don’t want the Ten Commandments on State Capitol grounds and now they demand to be allowed to erect an eight foot statute of Satan next to the Ten Commandments. The ACLU sued to have the Ten Commandments removed and the Satanic Temple in New York started raising funds to erect the statute of Satan next to the Ten Commandment. If this is not evil then what is?
I am deeply saddened for the Christians in America. One of the greatest things any elected president brings to the nation is influence. More than laws passed or mandates set, a president set the mood, orchestrates the tone for the period in which he governs. When Ronald Reagan was president, it was a time of great patriotic fervor and the God of the Bible was mentioned often. Christians felt empowered to openly display their faith.
Since Obama was elected in 2008 something also risen over that nation. It is a spirit of darkness that is seeping into every aspect of their daily lives. The LGBT has come so far out of the closet the closet doesn’t even exist anymore. And before long, acceptance will be demanded and obtained for pedophiles and every other manner of deviant behavior. The public school system is now encouraging transgendered children to “embrace their diversity.” They have become an alley cat nation, with no rules, no morals and no God. Pot has become open and legal in both Colorado and Seattle with dozens more states soon to follow. They have become a nation of Godless pleasure-seekers who can no longer discern between right and wrong. They are daring the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob to judge them.
In another part of this darkening world, a girl thought to be as young as eight years old was found wearing a suicide vest, put on her by her militant brother, no less. “The girl, reported to be as young as eight and thought to be the sister of a prominent Taliban commander, is said to be in a state of shock and confusion. Police told the BBC she was encouraged to carry out the attack by her brother.” (“Girl Wearing Suicide Vest Detained, BBC News 1/8/13)
We could find many things much more heinous than the above by perusing the news sources any time of day and night. It is as if the world has a rheostat and the knob is being turned slowly – sometimes rapidly – to the left, dimming all light of goodness. And, there is only one who is good, according to Jesus and that is God. (Mark 10:18)
The world’s light rheostat is being turned down by Satan, through his human minions. The visceral hatred humankind demonstrably holds for God is as blatant as the in-your-face disdain for all that is good which the homosexual community increasingly demonstrates, as reported in the story above. Such is proof that we are indeed living in prophetic, evil days. Paul the apostle described them in stronger terms: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” (2 Timothy 3:1) I have news for you, it is here.
Even though that evil, those perilous times can be more easily seen in such blatant violence as is exploding all around this generation, another sign of the times Jesus spoke about is the subtle but equally deadly sin-virus spreading like a cancerous mass, slowly dialing the rheostat to the left.
The hatred of God and His Son Jesus Christ, who is equally God – is becoming more “in- your-face” day by evil day. Last December, Isaiah Martinez brought his first grade classmates at Merced Elementary School candy cane. Attach to each treat was a message explaining the religious legend surrounding the candies. The legend references a candy maker who created the candy cane to symbolize the life of Christ.
When the six year old boy arrived at school, his teacher noticed the religious message and immediately confiscated the gifts, according to Robert Tyler, the general counsel for Advocates for Faith and Freedom. It takes a special kind of evil to confiscate a six year old child’s Christmas gift. Tyler said the little boy watched as his teacher threw the box and the messages into the trash.
“She then told Isaiah that he could distribute the candy canes now that the Christian messages were eliminated.” Tyler wrote, noting that the teacher was following the “explicit instructions” of her supervisor.
“Meanwhile, other students in Isaiah’s class handed out Christmas gifts to their fellow classmates,” Tyler wrote. “Some of these gifts expressed secular messages concerning Christmas and were packaged with images of Santa Claus, penguins with Santa hats, Christmas trees and other secular messages.” (Todd Starnes, “Teacher Tells 6 year old ‘Jesus is not allowed in school.’ Fox News, 7/1/14)
Everywhere we look on the horizon of our culture and society, we see Christianity being marginalized. It is becoming politically incorrect to mention Christ’s holy name at any secular event, as we’ve examined over the course of a number of years. Now, the rheostat turners are invading the boundaries of freedom of religion set by the founding fathers. Almost daily we get reports of government ruling against Christians, even though the business or church activities involved is protected by the Constitution.
We remember recently in America, the bakery owned and run by Christians being successfully sued by homosexuals who wanted a cake baked for their same-sex marriage. We recall recently the Duck Dynasty star being suspended from the program, at least until the producers saw the devastating effect on their bottom line, for standing on his Christian principles when asked a question in an interview. And these are but the tip of the proverbial iceberg of hatred for anything Christian, growing in America and around the world.
In the Middle East the persecution and murder of Christians is now a daily occurrence. In certain parts of Africa, it is the same. I sometime wonder when God is going to respond to this treatment of His people. I am comforted by His word in Romans 12:19, “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves but rather give place to wrath: for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.”
“….and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face.” (Deut. 7:10)
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. I have never known God to say something and not do it. For those who ridicule and blaspheme God or Jesus Christ, I dare not imagine the nightmare that awaits them.
The Scripture tells of these evil days and what we should do about them. We are told that we should be “Redeeming the time because the days are evil.” (Eph. 5:16) This means our efforts in this life should always be to present Christ through our moment-by-moment activities in the increments of time we’ve been given on this fallen planet. We must keep the lights on, in other words.
We do this by following these instructions: “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand.” (Eph. 6:13)

On 21/1/2014, a miracle occured whereby a boy and his grandmother was ran down by two cars and what happened was that the boy had only superficial wounds, and stood back up on his feet to take a look at her grandmother to see if she was okay. When they went to the hospital, the doctor only found superficial wounds on both of them. She replied to the news reporter that the Hand of God was upon them (protection of God). I was amazed by the video, and so as others, as I took a glance at the comments reviewed by many Facebook users. I found some who said it was God. Some said Jesus. Some said lucky. Some explain by scientific means. Well, it obviously is something supernatural since you don't cars running down over people and survived with only superficial wounds.. Though I remain reserved in my standing about this, unless they explain the truth, then we may know. I find the hearts of many hardened by the fact of this miracle case and thus saying otherwise to negate the reality of God in the situation. May God have mercy on these people. I do not even want to look further the comments.
