Popular event continues to foster faith-based friendships and conversations among young single adults – lasting friendships that may even one day lead to happy marriages.
Though we are more connected digitally than ever before, we live in an age that finds young adults increasingly disconnected. In this context of the busy modern world and time spent scarcely in rich relationships, a grassroots movement is quietly building bridges among Evangelical Christian singles across Malaysia.
The Christian Singles Mixer 2025, once known as M.C.O (Meet Christians Online), is back this year with a new roster and new vitality. Created for Christian singles aged 25 to 45, the event has grown into an energetic space for community, gathering people not only searching for relationships, but for deeper fellowship on shared faith.
This year’s event will feature both online and onsite sessions, with a special emphasis on community- & fellowship- building and on biblical reflection. The speakers – Rev. Alexa Ho from PJEFC, and Pastors Getsy and Judson from Kingdomcity – will speak on topics related to Christian singleness, relational wisdom, and the pursuit of God-honouring connections.

While the word “mixer” might conjure images of awkward speed-dating, the Christian Singles Mixer takes a different approach – one based on encouragement, vulnerability, and spiritual growth.
“This isn’t a dating event. It’s a space for christian singles to connect, be real, and grow alongside others walking a similar journey,” said a spokesperson from the organizing committee.
Born From Lockdown, Grown Through Community
The initiative began during the height of the Movement Control Order (MCO) during the pandemic – hence the original name. What started as an experimental online gathering quickly gained momentum, as many discovered a safe, welcoming environment where real conversations could flourish.

Past participants speak warmly about the event’s impact. Some have found spiritual encouragement while others have found lasting friendships, some even leading to happy marriages.
Many who initially signed up didn’t know what to expect, but they ended up meeting people who understood what it is like to be a single Christian adult today, the pressures – whether from cultural expectations, family, or within the church itself.

This bond of friendship over meaningful discussions about challenges and hopes faced by singles on a day-to-day level transcends beyond just an event and many have continuously kept in touch since. Such stories have encouraged organizers to keep the mixer going.
A Carefully Curated Experience
The event is jointly organized by Rhema Media, City Community Church, and Graduates Christian Fellowship (GCF), with a strong emphasis on creating a safe and intentional space. It is strictly open to Evangelical Christian singles, and sign-ups are subject to screening and gender balance, to ensure a healthy group dynamic.
Online meetings require all participants to have their video on, a decision taken in order to ensure openness and actual presence despite being in virtual formats. The on-site venue and details will be sent via email to selected participants – three days’ notice before the event. No walk-ins are allowed for the on-site event, reflective of the organisers’ commitment towards the participants’ privacy and on quality time over participant count.
The organizers encourage those interested to sign up early through the waitlist at https://tinyurl.com/CSMixer2025 . As with previous years, spots are limited.

Navigating Singleness With Purpose
One of the most appreciated aspects of the Christian Singles Mixer has been its refusal to reduce singleness to a “problem” to be solved. Instead, the event affirms the season as one of growth, discovery, and service – while also acknowledging the very real desire for companionship.
The presence of leaders like Rev. Alexa Ho and Pastors Getsy and Judson also signal the event’s desire to bring theological depth alongside relational wisdom. Respected for their pastoral care and grounded teaching, the speakers will share based on the topic of Red Flags & Green Lights (Spiritually Speaking).
Humble in aspiration as the Christian Singles Mixer might be, it is also part of a broader trend – Christians stepping out of their comfort zone to embrace community and authenticity.
“If this event can be a spark, then praise God,” said one of the GCF volunteers. “Our hope is not just that people walk away with new friendships and even a potential date, but that they walk away with renewed courage, identity, and purpose knowing that they are not alone.”
