Some moments in life transform us so completely, that we can only describe them as miraculous. Brother Stanley Har’s journey is a powerful testimony of redemption, divine intervention, and an unwavering faith that inspires many. From a life of darkness, immersed in the world of gang violence, alcohol, and occult practices, to becoming a devoted servant of Christ, his story is nothing short of extraordinary.

Brother Stanley’s past was deeply entangled with the kingdom of darkness. Once a bar owner, he lived a life of excessive drinking and frequent gang fights. Yet, through it all, he never succumbed to drugs—a small but significant grace even before he knew Christ. Under the influence of two spiritist masters from Thailand, he practiced meditation, crafted amulets, and engaged in witchcraft, seemingly sealing his fate away from God’s light. No one dared to speak to him about Jesus—perhaps due to his intimidating appearance and hardened heart. But God had a different plan.
A breakthrough came through the pure-hearted courage of a young girl. Though Brother Stanley initially mocked her faith, her tears broke through the layers of his resistance. Though she could not complete her message, the seed of the Gospel was planted. That seed began to take root, leading him on an unexpected journey of questioning, seeking, and ultimately surrendering to Christ.

It wasn’t an easy road. Even when he desired to learn about Jesus, no one was willing to talk to him—until he met a brother who made him promise to simply listen. That conversation ended with a powerful command: “In the name of Jesus, I command the demon to leave.” At that very moment, before he even called on Jesus himself, Brother Stanley knew he was saved. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and his life changed forever.
From that day forward, miracles and supernatural encounters became part of his daily walk. His baptism was not just a ritual; it was an urgent, unexplainable conviction that he could not resist. When he received the Holy Spirit, it was instantaneous—his hunger for God’s presence and truth intensified. The same man who once mocked the name of God now boldly proclaimed it.
As a follower of Christ, Brother Stanley experienced extraordinary divine provision and guidance. Despite lacking resources, connections, or qualifications, he ventured into business, trusting God. Whenever obstacles arose, God provided—whether through unexpected financial support, divine wisdom, or unlikely individuals accomplishing great tasks. What seemed impossible became a testimony to God’s unfailing power.

One of the most astonishing moments of his journey was witnessing deliverance firsthand. At a worksite, a man tormented by multiple demons manifested. Though inexperienced in deliverance, Brother Stanley relied solely on the power of Jesus’ name. One by one, the demons fled, proving that authority in Christ is not about personal strength but about knowing who we are in Him.
After this deliverance, God used Stanley in ways he never imagined, revealing deep truths about His name, our authority in Christ, and the righteousness we receive as a gift, not something we earn. He realized that accepting Christ immediately places us in a position of spiritual authority, equal to the most powerful faith leaders. While we should desire to live a life pleasing to God, righteousness is not about perfection but about living a repentant life.
Stanley remarked, “God continued to show me the authority we have in Christ. As a young Christian, I still struggled with certain habits, yet God used me powerfully. Once, during a deliverance, I stood before 200 people, witnessing the power of Jesus’ name at work. It was humbling because I knew I was nothing in my own strength. But God reminded me that authority is not based on personal worthiness -it is based on Christ’s righteousness in us. Even the weakest believer stands victorious over the enemy because we are part of the body of Christ. The smallest toe in the body of Christ is still above Satan! This truth changed my perspective—I stopped focusing on my weaknesses and instead on who I am in Christ.”

God’s lessons continued to unfold in supernatural ways. Stanley said, “I understood that when we truly delight in the Lord, He fulfills the desires of our hearts in ways beyond our imagination. These experiences strengthened my faith in the supernatural power of God. He does not operate within human logic—He surpasses it. When we rely on our reasoning, we may limit what He wants to do. But when we trust Him fully, miracles happen. From deliverance to divine provision, my journey is a testament that God’s power is real, His righteousness is freely given, and His plans for us are far greater than anything we could orchestrate on our own.”
His ministry led him to serve the poor, the marginalized, and those who, like him, once lived in darkness. Through the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship (FGB), he has dedicated years to bringing hope to the streets of Penang, working alongside the Methodist Church to serve the needy. Even in challenging times, such as during the pandemic, when financial struggles hit hard, God remained faithful. Unexpectedly, support came, just when it was needed the most.
Stanley said that he failed the Secondary Form Three exams. But, God helped him to improve his English not through formal education, but through reading the Bible aloud. He shares that the Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Studying and researching are beneficial, but they build knowledge, not faith. True faith comes from constantly hearing God’s Word, letting it seep deep into your spirit, and responding to the Word. He explained, “I would sometimes read a single chapter, like Daniel, over a hundred times, not just reading but hearing it, until it became part of me. That is how faith is strengthened—by hearing and hearing again.”

“Now, as life gets busier with community work and ministry, I sometimes struggle to maintain the same level of sensitivity to God’s voice. But I know that with prayer and a return to the simplicity of faith—just listening to Him—I will regain that deep connection. I ask for your prayers so that I can continue walking in humility, relying solely on God’s power and wisdom, knowing that I am nothing without Him.”
Brother Stanley’s testimony is a living example of God’s grace, power, and calling. From a hardened gangster to a vessel of Christ’s love, his life reminds us that no one is beyond redemption. His journey shows us that when we surrender to God, He does not just change our path – He transforms our very being. And in that transformation, miracles unfold, the impossible becomes possible, and the lost become found.

To those who feel far from God, take heart. If He could reach Brother Stanley, He can reach you too. His power is limitless, His love is relentless, and His plan for you is greater than anything you can imagine.
Christianity Malaysia would like to thank Bro Stanley and the writer of the article for their generosity in sharing this testimony as an encouragement to our readers. May Bro Stanley’s life story bless and encourage many.
