Popular media bombards us with the notion that "we are not alone in the universe" and that "the truth is out there". According to the evolutionary perspective, there might be intelligent life in the universe since planet Earth is only one of billions of planets that came into existence through a series of chance random process over billions of years. Since Earth is only one of the many billions of planets out there, shouldn't at least a handful of planets out there harbor intelligent life? Yet, the Bible – which is God's History Book of the Universe – paints an entirely different picture (if we care to read it carefully and stand upon its authority right from the first verse in Genesis!).
Have you ever wondered – Is it theologically compatible for us as followers of Jesus Christ to believe in the existence of aliens? More importantly – How does the view of alien life forms affect the historicity of God's plan of salvation which started since Genesis 3:15?
Many Christians have bought into the idea of extraterrestrial alien life. But is this idea really biblical? The Christian should constantly examine ideas in light of Scripture and take "every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5).
