Dreams are often stuff which take more than your lifetime to accomplish – it is big, humongous and well… dreamy. A vision on the other hand, is so crystal clear that it must be achieved in your lifetime – you will go through life restless until you actually witness its fulfillment. Most people when asked about their goals in life tend to give you a dreamy look and use dreamy words like – I want to happy, I want to be successful, I want to be wealthy, etc. Trouble is that these words are full of good intention. Period.
Beyond attending reading self-help books and attending seminars, there is still one more humbling step that one may need to consider if your life is still very much of a dream (full of good intentions) rather than a life that is punctuated with a clear vision (full of great instructions). Most importantly, for a dream to be translated to a clear vision, it must be anchored in the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, spend time with God and find out His Vision for your life.
Consider also locating a personal coach. Not just any coach but a strengths-based coach. Much of what is happening in coaching nowadays focuses on what is lacking in a person and “areas of improvement”. Worse still, there could be a lot of hype thrown in – thinking that you can be anything you want to be if you try hard enough. This is more coercion than coaching!
Strengths-based coaching is not about becoming someone whom you are not, it is becoming more of who you already are. God did not make us to be like another person. Instead, each one of us is endowed with unique strenghts and abilities.
Check out this week’s wise-video. For someone of you reading this, it could be your breakthrough decision in translating your desirable dream into a series of detailed vision.

A vision must be God-centered, not man-centered. A God-vision empowers you and strengthens you to walk on the journey of faith in fulfiling God’s purpose. But a man-mad vision only lies as big as the realm of self.
