Freedom in Christ for Sexually Broken People

This is the first part of a 3 SERIES talk by Pastor Edmund Smith on the ‘freedom of Christ’ among sexually broken people (SBP) in FGA Kota Damansara on April 6 at 5 P.M.:

 

Clad in a smart-looking black vest on a checkered shirt, Pastor Edmund Smith looked professional and enthusiasticfor his speech on ‘freedom in Christ’ among the sexually broken people (SBP) at the FGA Kota Damansara on April 6 at 5 P.M.

His beautiful children, Angel and Ethan, sat at the front row shooting mischievous glances at the attendees with the brightest smile ever. His wife, Amanda Smith, also grinned from ear to ear when Pastor Edmund shared how he bought flowers for his wife’s birthday.

 

 

Stepping Into a Homosexual Lifestyle

An ex-gay, Pastor Edmund thought that he was a girl at four years old. His parents wanted a daughter after having three sons, but Edmund turned out to be a boy! Since he was a little boy, he wanted dolls and wore dresses. And like Cinderella, he wanted his prince charming to come. His mother would allow him to wear dresses until he entered kindergarten when he was told that none of his ‘nonsense’ would continue.

Nobody told him that he was a boy. And Edmund grew up misperceiving the sexuality he has, called as the gender identity disorder (GID).

“Someone who believes that he is a girl would naturally be drawn to men. I walked like a queen and I cat-walked down the street. I also plucked my eyebrows. If you saw me a few years ago, you wouldn’t know that I’m a guy,” said Edmund.

At a tender age of 13 years old, he entered a homosexual lifestyle, a time when puberty hits. Not knowing much about having a healthy sexuality, he believed in educating the young about sex. 

“I believe in educating children in how they came about. I don’t believe in shying away from this subject. They hear about sex from the media and the Internet even without us telling them,” said Edmund.

 

Setting Free from Sexual Addiction with Jesus

“We are sexual beings. If people like me don’t step out, where do Christian go to when they sexual problems, porn addiction, masturbation problems and homosexuality? They feel embarrassed going to their pastor for these problems.But the church is the best place to get information. The world does not have the Word of God but the church has the Word of God. Sex is there when the world started. It is Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve,” said Edmund. 

A female’s sexual organ, a vagina, is designed to accommodate a male’s sexual organ, a penis. In a nutshell, a vagina is formed for the penis.

We can only be set free through Jesus Christ. The question is: do we want God to set us free?

“God is super capable. The problem is with us. We go to our best selves, best books and best pastors but we don’t go to God. People say that they believe in God but they do not have a relationship with Him. Every relationship calls for a time to invest. I know my wife and my wife knows me. My wife is called Mrs. Edmund Smith but what is that if we don’t spend time together?” said Edmund.

 

 

How is Edmund set free from sex addiction?

“It is Jesus and Jesus alone. He uses ministry, people, books to set me free but behind all that, it is Jesus! Don’t let Tom, Dick or Harry in the Internet lead you into faulty teachings but be led by the Holy Spirit. Every teaching has to go hand-in-hand with the Word of God,” said Edmund.

 

God Made Eve for Adam

Genesis 2:21-24 New International Version (NIV)

21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[a] and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[b] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

23 The man said,“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”

24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

 

Genesis 2:21-24 shows that God is the first to perform surgery. Whatever God does, He does it for a reason.

“God is not a ‘cincai’ God. He is perfectly particular. And he gave woman to man for a beautiful reason. Heterosexuality is God’s plan,” said Edmund.

– is for Eve, Not Eve and Steve (bisexual)

– is for Eve, Not Eve and Sharon (polygamist)

– is for Eve, Not Eve not Adam himself (masturbator)

– is for Eve, Not Fifi the dog (zoophile)

– is for Eve not for other’s to see (exhibitionist)

– is for Eve not little Steve or Sharon (paedophile)

– is for Eve not watching other’s do it (porn)

– is to be Adam not Eve (transgender)

 

“It’s beautiful to be the gender that God created you to be. All men should celebrate being a man. And all women should celebrate being a woman,” said Edmund.
